Priority Restaurant and Entertainment Seating

Recommended Posts

I just reviewed the latitude rewards description and this one, 'priority restaurant and entertainment seating' had me wondering...  Have I been receiving this reward and not known about it?  What does this mean?  Is it like the concierge reward that few have ever seen?  Not a complaint, just curious.  Anyone experience this?

Good question. I know suites with concierge/butlers have a dedicated section in the theatre and the concierge can make restaurant reservations for them. Beyond that, it's a little unclear based on this cut & paste. Wasn't aware that latitude level had much to do with these perks.

I saw it in the tiers benefit under latitudes rewards (subject to availability).  It's the last reward under platinum +.  There isn't any explanation.  Maybe something on paper that doesn't really mean anything.

It certainly isn’t clear.

On some ships I have seen a row in the theatre reserved for platinum plus. For example, on the Spirit last year the front row on one side stated that. It was almost always totally empty.

As for the restaurant seating, on a couple of occasions it has seemed as though the person seating us has noted our status and seated us in fairly good seats (ie near the windows), but mainly it seems to make no difference.

On the Breakaway at Easter we went to o’Sheehans and the person there was just going to take us to a table and then looked at our cards, said something about platinum plus to herself and then looked at the table plan again. She then took us to a table that didn’t seem particularly good or bad.

My advice on this is just to ignore it and maybe you will get a better table every now and then.

I've wondered the same thing.  At O'Sheehans a couple of cruises ago, we were in a little line to be seated for lunch.  The hostess was telling everyone before us how it might take 30 or 40 minutes and 'the Garden buffet is open'.   She was handing out pagers to those who decided to wait but clearly wanted everyone to go to the buffet.

I decided to just ask " Does Platinum Plus get priority seating?"   She didn't have an answer, and we were willing to take a pager.  So then I asked her "Can you tell us where Platinum Plus gets priority restaurant seating as it's listed in the benefits".   She didn't have an answer to that either....but our pager went off in about 5 minutes.  Not sure if everyone else went to the buffet or she figured out PP does get priority🤔

We have been PP on several cruises and different ships since the addition of these “benefits” which I refer to in current political parlance as “fake benefits”. Literally no one on any ship we’ve been on has a clue about this offering. I actually have fun with it, checking every time. Escape, Breakaway, Dawn, Jade. NO ONE!! Especially suspect is priority seating in the theater. Once on Dawn when I was persistent,  and showed the benefit listed on my phone to gentleman at back of theater, we we allowed to sit in the Suite seats since there was room.  But he was baffled. Had never heard before. The other peeve is that the is literally no concierge. No name, no phone  #. Once when we were Platinum, we were given a name and number. I called, and the guy had no idea. Had never been told he also covered Platinum. Couldn’t be of assistance. We have, however, seen priority dinner seating work a few times. If there is a line (or pagers) in MDR, you are escorted to the next table. No line.

I have tried the "priority dining seating" on multiple ships with the normal response "back of the line" at O'Sheehan's and the MDRs. I talked to the Assistant Hotel Manager on the Escape about it a couple of months ago and she said that the restaurants are "suppose to provide priority seating" and would talk with the food and beverage director about it.
