Complimentary Dining Rooms on the Getaway

Recommended Posts

Between Taste, Savor and Tropicana which is best? Less crowded? Do we need reservations? This is my first time on an Away class ship so am looking for answers! TIA.

Personally, we like Savor. That said, all are good. No reservations are necessary but I'd encourage you to make them. Even with reservations we sometimes wait for a few minutes. Really depends on when you go and what else is going on around the ship.

All three serve the same menu. Tropicana located on deck 7 aft is the largest and has a dance floor and live music during part of the dinner service. Savor and Taste are smaller and are located on deck 6 aft. They are directly opposite each other with the Mixx bar in between. You can make reservations but we have never found this necessary. If the line seems long at Tropicana just go down one flight of stairs and see if there is a wait at Savor or Taste.

The food will be the same, as will the menu.  Tropicana has a more elegant feel to the dining room, while Taste/Savor have a smaller comfortable atmosphere (relatively).

The one that is better is the one with the shorter wait. Food is the same. And a table is a table.
