Night at De Librije in the Pinnacle surcharge.

Night at De Librije in the Pinnacle surcharge.

Have done an extensive search in this forum, but found inconsistent information regarding the price.

·         Does Mariner Discount apply to the $69? (found this price in our current booking information on-line) In the FAQ on the Mariner society page at HAL it is stated that discount is also on the special nights in the Pinnacle, such as Librije and others, but is this the same percentage as on regular Pinnacle nights?

·         Is the wine pairing included in the $69 or is it extra and if it isn’t, how much is it extra?

We have done Librije once, but that was six years ago and cannot remember prices.

Thanks in advance.

We have had inconsistent experiences on board also.  Have had the Mariner discount applied to the $69 twice and have had it refused once even with an email from Headquarters showing Guest Services on board it was applicable.  Gave up the fight after a few visits to Guest Services on board and got it refunded by Seattle when we got back home.

The $69 charge does cover wine pairings of approx 2 ounces per course.  You can pay an additional $20 or so, if I recall correctly, to increase the size of the pairings (same wine) to 5 ounces.  There is no discount on the extra charge.

The Mariner Discount does apply to the cost of De Librije.  From the Mariner FAQ:

The Pinnacle Grill, Canaletto and Tamarind all qualify for Star Level discounts. Le Cirque and De Librije and themed evenings in the Pinnacle Grill such as Chinese Dinner, Japanese Dinner, Indonesian Dinner, Australian Dinner, South America Dinner and Radio Show Dinner also receive Star Level discounts. Master Chef Dinner, Cellar Master Dinner, and restaurant packages are excluded from the discounts.

I don't think the $69 includes the wine pairings.  Or, if it does, it is the small taste and not the large one.

We paid $47 extra (per person) for De Librije on our most recent cruise on Koninsgdam. I believe $69 is the price of the dinner including wine.

Thank you all for this usefull info. In our cruise it is listed for $69 for pre-order, now assuming this is with wine pairing.

According to the Konigsdam, the Mariner Loyalty Discount applies only to the regular ship cost of $49 of the De Librije and not to the $69 online price that includes the wine pairing,  .  The cost of the De Librije online should provide the option of both with and without the wine pairings to eliminate any confusion.

I would recommend paying the $69 online and then have the Specialty Restaurant staff on board cancel and rebook at the $49 price if you are not interested in the wine pairings.  This will get you some "refundable" OBC and use your "non-refundable" OBC to pay for the De Librije meal.

Good tip, may do it in this way.
