Warning...a non-anointed walked the red carpet

Recommended Posts

Yes...the aura of the royal rug on the Constellation has been tarnished....I, a lowly concierge class passenger, took a risk and dared walk on it ....oh the shame😂

At least that red carpet might have led you somewhere, as opposed to this one

LOL

BOTH look like places to pose for pictures rather than  a walkway leading to anywhere!

😂🤣😅

Yeah I would say some of those permutations are insulting to all parties involved.

Is that carpet also for Aqua & Suites.?

Suites and Zenith as far as I know. On our last Mediterranean cruise the ship was docked in Naples. We spent the day on Capri. The red carpet really saved time getting back on the ship.

I believe the idea is that you go stand there and the ship personnel come to meet you and escort you on board in front of everyone else.  I've never seen a line long enough to justify using it but nice to know it's an option.  I wish they offered the same thing for tender lines (to get back to the ship).

We just disembarked the Summit and while in Bar Harbor(tender port) I observed Joanna walking the tender line and pulling out her suite clients.  This is the first time I have observed this.  I think it depends on the suite personnel.  She seems highly regarded.

We have had the Suite Mgr or GRM take us from standing in the tender lines to the front of the line.

I have not seen this carpet in a long time.  Perhaps it's because we seldom get off our ship... oops, the Celebrity ship that we are on.

I hope you checked that your shoes were clean!  No footprints allowed on red carpet.

Had to laugh on a recent cruise there was a queue of about 6 couples at the suite entry while the other queue had none! Still they queued??

It has been common practice for several years to have the Suite Manager and/or Michael's Club Concierge pulling out the suite and zenith guests from long lines (tender or not) and escorting them to the line front.

Arno, I also haven’t seen it in years, maybe there were an unusual number of Zeniths onboard.

ghstudio:  First you ignored the Private Event sign in the Reflections Lounge and now walking the red carpet - I'm waiting for the next picture of you in the brig!  Starting your own Revolution...gotta love it!

No problem with priority boarding for suites, but an actual red carpet??  Kind of silly, IMHO.  Now if it went the length of the pier and the paparazzi was there … !

Have got to say there have been a few ports where we have been grateful for this. They were also moving forwards a few older/less mobile guests...

We generally ignore the carpet unless the queue is long and the weather is boiling or freezing.

I'd prefer to see a picture of him swigging a beer on the bridge!
