Before & After 11-8-20 on the Epic

We are booked on the Epic Transatlantic November 2020. In looking at the deck plans, I noticed a toggle before and after November 8, 2020. The number of cabin types before on Deck 12 was 15; after 12. The aft-facing balcony, which we have, before, is total square footage 205-221 and balcony 54-70. After: 205-309; balcony 54-81. I know there is speculation that the Epic will go into dry dock just before our cruise but seems odd to change the measurements of cabins. And the colors of the categories changed, too.

I have nothing to do for 500+ days but to wonder....

We just got off the Epic and the cabins were in dire need of a refurbishment.  The carpeting was pulled up along several edges in our cabin and our family members cabins as well.  Also the laminate countertops in the cabins were in bad shape with vinyl tape hiding the missing chunks.

The public areas were still in very good condition though.

Epic had a dry dock just a few years ago.  They completely remodeled restaurants and the Haven lounge as well as new carpet in the public areas.  But I think every 5 years there are mini dry docks and every 10 a major one.  The Epic is probably due for a major one that will include all state rooms, etc.  Hard to believe but Epic is 10 years old next year.
