TT81 Posted July 5, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2019 Hi, I'm sailing Singapore to Hong Kong in January. We have to be off the ship early morning but my flight doesn't leave until late in the day. Is there anywhere that you can store luggage for a few hours? Thanks

Thanks If you don't mind taking the subway to the airport then get your self to Kowloon Station where they have airline check-in for most airlines. You check in your luggage as you would at the airport, get your boarding passes, and then go out and explore HK. https://www.hongkongairport.com/en/transport/to-from-airport/airport-express.page http://www.mtr.com.hk/en/customer/services/complom_checkin.html Mind that you have to purchase Airport Express tickets before you can enter the check in area AND you should be at the airport at least 2 hours before your departure time. In addition to security you'll have to go through HK Departure Immigration.
TT81 Posted July 5, 2019 Author #3 Share Posted July 5, 2019 Thank you Philob, that sounds like it will work well. Ill have around 5 hours to explore before I need to be at the airport so that should work perfectly
CruiseDigits Posted July 8, 2019 #4 Share Posted July 8, 2019 The Hong Kong MTR is clean, air conditioned, and organized. We love it. Big fans of the Airport Express and bag check in service -- it's also available from Hong Kong Station of you want to get on after going to Victoria Peak or do anything else on Hong Kong Island. That sounds like a great adventure!
Rare kernow Posted November 2, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Just found this thread as we are disembarking HK in Feb and flying out in the evening. Looks like it could be a good option for us. What is the best way to get from Kai Tak terminal to the Kowloon station? Thanks.

As we disembarked we decided to take a taxi because of all our (ha DW) luggage, taxis are still cheap. When you disembark there is a counter (manned by Hong Kong Tourist Agency), they will ask you where you want to go they will then give you a note with your destination address in chinese (most taxi drivers do not speak English) and approximate cost. Taxis do not take cedit cards. Then you join the taxi queue, first off you will think OMG how long, but it is very well controlled and moved quickly, we only waited 20 minutes. With regards to checking in your luggage, besides the points mentioned above not all airlines participate see link: https://www.tripsavvy.com/list-of-airlines-offering-in-town-check-in-at-hong-kong-station-1535652

Betty in Cozumel Posted November 3, 2019 #10 Share Posted November 3, 2019 (edited) HAL had a shuttle to the Kowloon MTR station for $35/person. We took this because of all the hype they said of there being NO TAXIS once we arrived. It was total BS as there were tons of taxis. But someone else had said when they arrived once there was only a few so it must be hit or miss.
