Paid off my cruise!!!

Recommended Posts

Just paid off my cruise.  Our family of 10 are going in January and I took a million AARP quizzes to save a pit of cash.  Received my gift cards and paid it off.  Now for all the planning.  Hope some of you are joining me.

Which cruise? I paid two of ours off and almost paid off a third with the gift cards. If the discounted gift cards go away from AARP, I'll miss them.

Congrats!

I know the feeling well!
We just paid ours off on the 12th for a cruise in October!

Cupcake has me log in to the Carnival site every day just so she can see the countdown (or I pull it up in the app!)

Can't wait to embark!

Congrats!  I cant wait to pay mine off.  Random expenses are slowing me down!

Stupid bills. 😆 Seems like every time I get ahead something new pops up that drains my account.

Tell me more, what are aarp cards?

Go to AARP.org and take quizzes to earn points then order gift cards at a discount.  Unfortunately the program is being changed and you only have until July 25th to ear points I believe.

When I found out the AARP points I had been working on were going away, I got my cards and paid off our B2B cruises in February.  I still have some gift card credit left and will be getting our excursions with them--just waiting for a sale or discount.  And I think I'll be getting a couple more gift cards next week for a deposit for the next cruise.  I hope the AARP gift cards are available with the new program.  It makes a huge difference on savings.

Remember, once the cruise fare is paid off, you can still use discounted gift cards to pay for shore excursions, on board purchases, and for us, casino expenses.

Great way to save 10% all around, not just the fare.  Hope the new replacement program offers similar or better discounts.

I just did the same thing.   Our cruise is next april and I had 2477 to pay off for the 3 of us.    When I saw that AARP is changing the program, I didn't want to take a chance of not getting them.   I took a million quizzes within a week to get enough, just got them all and paid off the cruise!!

I also used a new credit card I have to buy them...got an addition $150 reward for using it to buy these cards...plus 1.5% cash back too.  Additional score :):)
