Does anyone have an idea when the 2021, Antarctic Journey schedules will be available?

Thank you.

Take care,

Mike

There is a whole thread devoted to waiting for the post Nov 2020 schedule.  No one knows, including the on-board cruise specialists from the reports I got from friends currently on board,  just lots of rumors.  The new Venture ship does have Nov/Dec for Antarctica listed here:

https://www.seabourn.com/en_US/find-a-cruise.html#%7B!tag=destinationTag%7DdestinationIds=&%7B!tag=embarkTag%7DembarkPortCode=&%7B!tag=departTag%7DdepartDate=2021-11-01T00:00:00Z,2021-12-01T00:00:00Z&%7B!tag=durationTag%7Dduration=&%7B!tag=shipsTag%7DshipId=&%7B!tag=cruisetypeTag%7DcruiseType=&%7B!tag=portsTag%7DportsOfCall=&soldOut=false&sort=departDate%20asc,price_USD_anonymous%20asc&group.sort=departDate%20asc,price_USD_anonymous%20asc&start=0

You, I, and many others can only guess if the Quest will continue to sail there, my bet is NO but it is just a guess.

When we were on Sojourn (Kobe to Vancouver May/June 2019) and a VP for Explorations came and spoke to us---the question was asked about Quest and its future in Antarctica.  He told us that it was not yet decided how long Quest would be sailing to Antarctica.  I got the distinct impression (but just an impression) that Quest will cease going to Antarctica as soon as Venture is launched.

As I said we can only guess (as I've not been on but twice since when the Expedition ships were announced, including the day before when RM visited the ship to tell the crew and I got a day early tip off, so don't have the recent advantage of speaking with people who actually are in the know and would tell me) what the future of the Quest will be.  I know Robin going back to when he was first scouting out "ideas", before the Quest had the hull hardened and he kept things close to the vest so I doubt he would have shared that with you in a public setting or even privately.

I did not ask the question.  The question was asked in the large group setting by another passenger---and the answer was obviously quite vague.  The implication was quite obvious.  That was what I was trying to say.

Yes, this is a frustrating issue if you had imagined the itineraries would be available a month or 2 ago-  as I did and as my TA was more or less expecting. Which goes to show that this is something that is subject to all sorts of conjecture BUT that could be resolved easily if the Seattle resources had been allocated to the task a while ago

I reently asked Seabourn if they would be out this month and before the 31 July Summer Sale ends. I am waiting for a response but in the meantime will check seabourn.com every couple of days.

Happy and healthy sailing!

For what it's worth, the Venture has just over half the capacity of Quest. It seems unlikely to me that they'd cut their capacity for Antarctica in half for the 2020-21 season. But the following year, when the second expedition ship will be in service, then it might make sense to move Quest elsewhere (if they put both of the small ships in Antarctica). But we should know pretty soon...

We are now in August and still no news. I’m leaning towards an itinerary to the Maldives on a different cruise line (January 2021) with limited capacity. I’ve been patient up until now, but I’m worried that if I wait too long...

I understand the complications caused by the Cuba situation, but all the cruise lines were confronted with the same challenges, yet most have managed to get it together. I’ll wait a few more days. Longer than that, I might miss out on the other option.

A week ago I heard from Seabourn HQ 15 Aug. But the proof is in the pudding.

Good Luck with your 2021 schedules.  Our May 2020 cruise on Ovation has just been cancelled and we are being asked to decide if we want to sail the revised itinerary.....which we are yet to see!!!

Yep but that is the Venture which has been out for a bit now, see my post above 3rd one.  Sojourn WC was released in the last few days.  Hoping more to come now that it is August.

The recent problem on the website has been fixed but still no news on the 2021 itineraries.

I have friends onboard one of the Ponant ships at the moment. They sent me a message warning me that there is lots of buzz about the cruise I have been considering on the Laperouse to the Maldives in January 2021. Considering there are only 92 cabins on that vessel, I gave the go ahead to my TA to lock in my reservation. I’m afraid to wait any longer.

Sorry Seabourn, « you snooze, you lose ».

Les Picantins,

You did what you said a couple of weeks ago that you might do unless Seabourn released those itineraries for comparing with the Ponant cruise. Well done for staying the course! Sounds like a great itinerary with your friends.

About Seabourn, I don’t remember when they had so little lead time before a new release. It’s now just over

14 months until the void apart from one Nov., 2020 crossing and the Jan., 2021 world cruise.

C’mon already!

Happy and healthy sailing!

This is an area where Seabourn seriously lags behind every other luxury line. I have a friend who was very interested in the 2021 world cruise and was patiently waiting for information. Nothing for months while Crystal and Regent were already advertising their 2022 world cruises. Finally she gave up and booked with Silversea.

I just heard from a Seabourn office that they expect the post Oct., 2020 itineraries on Thursday, 15 Aug. I’ll be checking the website. Woo hoo (finally).

Happy and healthy sailing!

Wow, I hope it's more than just October and through summer 2021... (fingers crossed) I posted on this more than FOUR months ago, had no idea they'd make us wait for so long!  Like others I am waiting to make some decisions against other lines who have had schedules out for months now . . .

No, I doubt anyone at Seabourn is trying to fool anyone. It’s more likely that Marketing doesn’t know what Scheduling is doing, strange as this timimg coincidence seems, and no one senior to both made a decision back in July to hold the July sale’s 15 August end-date until something like the end of August.

Anyway, maybe Seabourn will run another sale event soon. But in any case, all that counts about cruise price quotes is what you pay per day for what you get if you were to book the cruise on the day. We like to book very early as we believe we get very good value, choice of cabins, and the feeling of satisfaction that goes with it. We have in past years seen cruises we had booked go “on sale” and when we checked with our TA we found we were still getting better value.

I hope everyone finds something they like on or after Thursday. We have waited long enough already!

Happy and healthy sailing!

Got some information on Encore. Its current schedule ends in Malta. Unsurprisingly the new itineraries are Malta to Athens, Athens to Dubai, Dubai to Singapore, Singapore to Sydney, Sydney to Auckland followed by a season of Australia / New Zealand cruises. No surprise there!
