Can someone tell me how often dancing classes are offered on a TA and at what cost?

Free ballroom classes in the Queen’s Room every day. They are popular, so much fun, and they do different dances every day s you can use what you learned on the dance floor. They also do line dance classes (we didn’t attend those). Your Daily Programmer will tell you when the classes are.

But if you want private lessons they are $70. We took many of the free classes AND a private with the dance pros.

Thanks to you both. If that cost is per couple, it's less than we're paying now for lessons to prepare for our December roundtrip. But I think we'll stick with the free ones and be fine if no one's committed to being critical of newcomers.

That was the cost per couple for us. But  the daily classes are really fine and no one is critical. The classes are fun and, at least on our crossing, we learned a lot. We had never danced Quickstep before and we learned enough in our free class to be able to use it on the dance floor that evening.

Be aware that, most of the time, the dance couple teaching the class will be teaching International Style version of ballroom dance as apposed to American Smooth style that is more common in the USA.  If the leader usually start with your left foot, you are probably being  taught American Smooth style.   Believe me - if you are used to starting a dance step with your left foot, and then are told to start with your right foot , it can be confusing.

Unlike Tonopah's experence, we have not found the free dance classes to be particularly useful.   Because they are free, they will be VERY crowded and unless you are lucky enough to be in the first few rows (and there will be many rows), you may not be able  to see the instructors feet when they demonstrate steps and with some of the instructors, the language accent can be difficult the understand.

I would highly recommend that you continue with your private dance instruction at home so that you will be ready for dancing  on the ballroom dance floor before you board the ship.   The best place to practice your new dance steps is at your home dance studio/ballroom.  (If  your dance instructor(s) has not covered it, ask about basic Ballroom Etiquette).
