Halloween Night on Nieuw Amsterdam?

Hello, 

Does HAL usually have any kind of Halloween night party or event  on Nieuw Amsterdam? We will be sailing on 10/31/19 and am wondering if we should bring even the simplest of costumes to make it more festive.

It's been a while for me being on the ship on Halloween, as I was on there on the Oosterdam several years ago (I was also on the Zuiderdam for Halloween, but was on a party bus trip on land that time).  I know the casino area was decorated in Halloween decorations, and there could be special Halloween activities.  Check the daily program guide for details.  Also, I have seen some dress up for the occasion, so feel free to do that.

 

In fact, I will be finishing up a BTB on the Nieuw Amsterdam while you are on.

The entrance to the dining room was decorated on the Nieuw Amsterdam -- this was a few years ago.

 

Around 9 PM there was a pub crawl which ended in the Northern Lights where the Halloween party began.  Northern Lights is now gone.  

 

Very few people dressed up.

We were on the NA Halloween 2017. We had a great time. Over 50% in at least a simple costume and probably 30 or 40 all out ,over the the top full costumes. There was a costume contest in BB Kings, Halloween themed drinks, special backdrops for photos. Our entire dinner table dressed up and we had a great time.  They brought the kids through music walk Trick or Treating. They were adorable and we got the left over candy. Not Disney's Halloween on the High Seas, but at least an effort to make the night special. Very glad we brought our costumes.
