RCI Ships for Sale (5)

Recommended Posts

Stumbling around in youtube I came across a post that said 40 cruise ships for sale.

The source is Apollo Duck, one of THE registry for ships.  RCI ships on the list are:

Majesty Of The Seas  built 1992

Grandeur Of The Seas  built 1996

Rhapsody Of The Seas  built 1997

Radiance Of The Seas  built 2001

Brilliance Of The Seas   built 2002

I've got to say sale of the Majesty didn't surprise me... but the Radiance and Brilliance did.  Thinning out their mid sized fleet.  Not my first time sailing on ships I knew were leaving the fleet...  Hope they continue to maintain them to their usual high standard.

You can't believe everything you read or see on the internet.

Radiance has a multi-million dollar refresh scheduled and immediately after that she headlines in Brisbane opening up a new market and home port there.  She isn't for sale.

When is Radiance scheduled for the refresh ?

End of the 2020 Alaska cruise season.  She does a transpacific with guests to Japan then onto dry dock.  Right after that she heads to Brisbane.

I was hoping it was before we sailed on July 31st 2020, but aleast I guess it's good there are still about 5 sailings after our cruise, this way  they won't start to tear  things up before our cruise is done. I know how they  like to start tearing things up before the actual  dry dock start date.

Sorry RCI has eliminated refundable down payments.

You will find a refundable deposit after you disclose all of your personal information along with your credit score and medical history at the bottom of the contract as long as you using a magnifying glass to read it.

It is understandable speculation based on the age of these ships.

Not for US/Canadian bookings of non-guarantee JS and below.

Sorry Bob, bad joke. I meant they have eliminated refundable down payments on whole-ship purchases. Which is really of course, just speculation on my part.

And yet RCI would need to either find an alternative for Baltimore (Grandeur sails from there now as she's one of the few that will fit under a bridge) or abandon plans to sail from Baltimore.  There's a thread floating around about Grandeur possibly being replaced in Baltimore, that's where I read the info about fitting under the bridge.

Sad but true I'm purchasing these ships, getting rid of the Casino and turning it into another lounge!  I'm renaming them the MS Cruise Critic Brillance, Majesty etc Of The Seas! All joking aside don't believe everything yiu read.
