Anyone else miss HAL's pillow chocholates?

The small box of sugar   the stewards  now leave at  turndown are  awful.

 

IMO all they are is tasteless sugar and even look unappealing,   I tossed them out and chocolate is one of my best friends.  If I  throw it away, IMO, it  is a total waste.

 

Better they leave nothing,  IMO

 

I have been waiting, weeks, months, ages for someone here to make comments about how bad    they look and taste.  Bring back the indiv. wrapped chocolate squares.

 

Makes me wonder if any of  the execs who voted  'aye'  ever tasted or looked at them.

 

Or do  they not like 'good '  Dutch chocolate ?

 

For so  many years, the nice pillow chocolates  they provided  actually tasted  like chocolate

 

I know 'taste' and individual  likes and dislikes are so varied.

There were still there on Amsterdam in June. The only night we got the other chocolates was Gala nights.

My last 3 or so cruises, I got the box of horrid looking and worse tasting  sugar and no hint of chocolate .   🤷‍♀️

We had chocolates on our 28 night Hawaii/Tahiti cruise in March.

Had great chocolate on Nieuw Statendam Norway earlier  this month.

I have received individually-wrapped turn-down chocolates on my last 31 HAL cruises through June 2019.  Sometimes they are semi-sweet and sometimes milk chocolate.

I hope I get the real chocolate on the Rotterdam.   They are my treat of the day.

We still had the chocolate squares on the Maasdam June 18 thru July 9.

Last March on the  Koningsdam we had chocolates on our pillows...

We brought home a whole jar full of individually wrapped chocolate squares from our last Eurodam cruise in March & April.   If HAL is changing this policy, maybe ships that still have cases of them will continue to give them out until depleted.  No point in throwing them away, they last a long time.

We had our pillow chocolates on the Prinsendam in June. I like to take them home as a tasty souvenir until the next cruise.

I eat only dark chocolate -- so I bring my own chocolates.

 

DH eats HAL's chocolates -- so nothing is wasted.

There were also still there in June on the Rotterdam (milk & dark chocolates).  Do I now have to bring my own bag of chocolates for the cabin steward to put on my pillow????

Sail7seas-I think you are talking about these ones, I’ll try to post photos.  We got them in our Neptune suite in April.  I did not like them either.

 

We only got the “weird” ones on Gala night, otherwise the regular chocolates.

I think Sail is referring to the quality of the chocolate not that she didn’t receive any.

Does anyone else remember the Droste pillow chocolate?

We are at present on the Maasdam. We receive chocolates each turn down

We didn't get them on our pillow.  They were put on our folio along with our breakfast menu and our next day "When and Where".

We only sail sail in Neptune and Pinnacle Suites.  The chocolates have never been on our pillows.  They were always on the card along with the daily program near the end of the bed.

Yikes -- I do not like the looks of these chocolates.

I'm certainly looking forward to having the chocolate squares next week! It just wouldn't be the same without them!
