Cozzette3 Posted August 5, 2019 #80 Share Posted August 5, 2019 Depending on what time we board the ship if our cabin is ready we will head up and jump up-and-down a few million times in excitement. check out our balcony and then disinfect everything and unpack if our bags are there . get down to laser tag and sign up check out the ship get ready for our Muster drill and sail away and of course somewhere in there we've gotta get something delicious. to drink

Is it ever possible to signup online? Thanks Sorry first time cruiser They do appear in the activities section of the cruise planner, but I wasn't able to catch them there for our sailing, so that's why I ended up at the box office on day 1. If you are checking for your other entertainment, you might get lucky and find them pop up for your sailing. have a great cruise.

linkerbink Posted August 6, 2019 #85 Share Posted August 6, 2019 Lunch at Windjammer, then check MDR table.
Marie51 Posted August 6, 2019 #86 Share Posted August 6, 2019 Go to the Windjammer for lunch, get a drink with an umbrella in it, find a place to sit and people watch until the cabin is ready, unpack as soon as my luggage arrives, muster drill, change clothes and freshen up, diamond club and then dinner. Assuming several glasses of wine will have been consumed by this time I’ll be ready for bed after dinner.

I live in San Francisco, so I try to give stuff from where I live. We've got two local chocolate companies: Ghirardelli and See's Candies. I'll put together little gift bags with a box of SF chocolates, a card I'll address by name, and a cash tip with the card. Once I know my room attendants' names, I'll address the cards and leave them out where they have to stumble across it (usually on the floor just inside of the cabin door). I've added other stuff, like golden gate bridge magnets or something else funky or fun I've found. Edited August 12, 2019 by mk-ultra
mk-ultra Posted August 12, 2019 #91 Share Posted August 12, 2019 (edited) It gets occasionally mentioned here, but it needs more exposure. The vast majority of the folks caring for you on your cruise work their butts off. 4-6 month contract, 12 hours a day, no days off unless you're working entertainment or stuff closed while in port or a bridge officer. Treat 'em well! Edited August 12, 2019 by mk-ultra
davekathy Posted August 12, 2019 #92 Share Posted August 12, 2019 Go to the MDR for MTD and pick a table for two in a location we like and request it for the entire cruise. Then head to the Schooner bar for our first drink of the cruise and chill out until they announce the cabins are ready.

Then bumper cars for kids is a perfect call. We did Anthem last week and the first day was the least busy for bumper cars. Get there maybe 20 minutes early? Super fun. Great advice...gonna follow this on Anthem.
