Tendered ports

Recommended Posts

Hi

My husband and I are sailing on the Jade Sept 12,2019 - Med cruise.

I have read that Santorini  / Mykonos are tendered ports - are any other ports on this cruise tendered ??

Thanks for your assistance ??

Our ports are Santorini

Athens

Mykonos

Chania

Valetta/Malta

Messina-Sicily

Naples

You may dock at Mykonos. Santorini is definitely a tender port. I'm not sure about any others.

The list is hard to find but there is a list of ports and if they tender or dock on the NCL site. Some

say tender or port. Sorry I do not have a link.

We have been to all of these ports and Santorin  is definite for tendering. Been to Mykonos twice once we tendered and once we docked

Near impossible to find lol ... go to Google and type "NCL tender ports" and first result is:

List is at bottom of page

Naples has been listed as a possible tender port on the NCL website, but I have never heard of anyone tendering there.

The link I provided lists the 2018 - 2020 Tender Ports and Naples isn't listed

That’s good. Looks like they’ve fixed it.

I don't know this for sure but can't almost every port become a tender port for example if many ships are docked?

The plan may be to dock but sometimes things happen and they have to tender instead.

Technically I suppose that is correct, but in most ports they wouldn’t book more than they have space for. I’ve certainly never tendered at any port that I wasn’t expecting (or at least knew there was a good chance), and in most ports I have never heard of anyone ever tendering.

The link below should help.  Look at the port description and pictures, then look at the schedule to see if there are any other ships in port that day and what time they are scheduled to arrive vs your ship.

Well you have now, we were scheduled to dock in Cozumel on the Dawn and ended up tendering. Cozumel is not some place where you ever expect to tender.

Cozumel is the port I was thinking about because I know that sometimes it's tendering and sometimes it's not.
