Thanks Llyod555 for getting this thread back on track about the Oasis Refurb instead of the Bionic Bar!

Hard to see through ceiling scaffolding (in the 2nd photo),  but it looks like the hand glider is being replaced by the huge jellyfish decal that Harmony of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas have.

I've always wondered what those windows in the loft area were for.  It appears as if they contain some lighting for the Aqua Theater.

I thought they were for technicians (maybe lighting?) who handled the shows.

I believe you're correct.

Thinking as a Royal Bean Counter, future use could be an Aqua Theater Super Loft Family Suite.

Unfortunately, you are probably correct.

I have not been keeping up much on the sailing before drydock and after the crane incident. Did the Aqua Theater ever reopen with shows? I am wondering because there are not any available to book for my December cruise.

Why is this an issue?  Royal is a publicly traded company. More cabins, more revenue, happier investors.

OK, thanks. So then I wonder what RCI's holdup is. One can only guess.

I never noticed before if one could reserve Aqua Theater shows on cruise planner. We only needed reservations for the Comedy Club.

Yeah, on all of my Oasis class sailings I have had to reserve the main show In the theater, the main ice show, and the main AT show as well as comedy. The secondary shows in each never had the option to reserve, and was always first come first serve.

Someone in my roll call for the Nov 24 sailing said Royal told them that they won't be having reserved productions for our sailing because it's going to be an entirely new show and a new cast, so likely we will be able to walk up and watch rehearsals and the like.

If you are in the service or tourism industry this could immediately change to more unhappy customers, less bookings, less revenue, unhappy investors, happy competitors. Royal is moving at the edge with all those changes.

I saw that tweet too, but read it more as work going on to the Aqua theatre itself than mentioning a new show as such?

I'd assume they're going to update the Aqua Theater with perhaps some new technology.  I don't know that the new cast will be able to rehearse prior to the first sailing post-AMP.  Perhaps on the media sailings that are scheduled for the day before?  But I'm guessing until they can be sure of everything they don't want to set a schedule for the shows.

New Aqua Show in production according to Nick Weir on Twitter.

Great, less diving, I'll bet.

He also tweeted about new version of CATS

Which ship? There are four Oasis class ships sailing and one on order.

Symphony is currently (and will be for the 2020 season) in Miami

Harmony is currently in Port Canaveral, and is speculated to go to Europe for the 2021 season.

Allure is currently in Fort Lauderdale, and will go to Europe for the 2020 season.

Oasis is being refurbished in Cádiz Spain, and will move to Miami and New York in 2020.

Wonder of the Seas will sail in Asia in 2021.
