Which Airport when flying into Seattle For Cruise?

Recommended Posts

Is it SEA?  I found a Hampton Inn, but it did not say anything about a shuttle to the port? Could someone recommend  a hotel with a shuttle?  Thank you so much.  We live in Florida and while we cruise a bit, obviously, we don't fly a lot.

We did SEATAC. We booked a wonderful bed and breakfast right near Pike Place Market for a few days (arrived Saturday, cruise started Tuesday). We just took the tram from the airport right to it...there was a stop like a block from the hotel. In the morning we just took a taxi...was like $15. On the way back we just took a taxi to the airport...$40 bucks flat rate.

We flew into SeaTac in June for our Alaska cruise. We spent 2 nights at The Country Inn and Suites near the airport. They have an airport shuttle. Also used the shuttle to go back to airport to catch the light rail to downtown. Hotel was very nice. Great breakfast and very helpful staff.

There are only 2 airlines that fly into PAE right now. United and Alaska Air. Paine Field is about 25-26 miles  north of downtown Seattle. SEA has always been the main airport into Seattle. Some people may like this option, and stay someplace north of the city for cheaper hotel prices, but transport would be more. You just have to look at costs.

As far as I know, nobody offers a free shuttle to the port. However, some will have one and charge a fee. You just have to call the hotel and check.

You can go to the Westcoast departure thread and get all the info you need on Seattle.

We are staying at the Fairfield Inn by the airport.  The offer a shuttle to the pier for $15pp.  That is what we will be using next Friday, to board our cruise.

That's pretty good deal for $15 per person.

We did the Ovation in June and flew into Seattle on Wednesday for a Friday cruise. We decided to stay downtown on Pine street so that we could walk to all of the sights. We think it was a good decision staying downtown. Cost more but we feel it was worth it to see downtown. We did a limo from SeaTac to the hotel for a flat $50. We had a balcony and used my Nikon binoculars to watch several pods of whales playing.

If you're flying in a day early, rent a car at SeaTac and use it to sightsee the day before your cruise.  Then the next day, return it at KOMO Plaza near the Space Needle and take a very short cab ride from there to pier 91.

Or better yet, stay near the Space Needle, return your car in the morning, walk back to your hotel and take the free cruise pier shuttle that some of the hotels in that neighborhood (Queen Anne) offer.  That's what we did a couple weeks ago.  VERY easy.

I've used a service called Seattle Express.  If you go to their website, there's a list of hotels where they pick up.  We used the Doubletree at SeaTac.  Very reasonable price for the shuttle service.
