Multiple Entree’s gone from UDP

I agree with you, but I have seen many cases where the Social Media Team has the incorrect information.

Given how some ships are trying to charge for the second entree, perhaps the social media team is right on this one.

I think it is also the principle.  The description is VERY specific "For one low price, you can enjoy multiple entrees and visit multiple specialty restaurants every night of your sailing."  Multiple entrees AND multiple restaurants, not multiple entrees AT multiple restaurants.

The ambiguity of this statement is causing confusion for everyone, though!

With the word AND, there is no ambiguity.   If it said AT, then it could be ambiguous.  But if it is only one entree per restaurant, then it makes that part of the sentence totally meaningless.  But that's just my opinion.

By the way you are interpreting it, multiple entrees is basically saying multiple restaurants.

They do this all the time, remember when the key was first offered, it stated you did not need to make reservations for the shows, then bam, wording changes and now you do need to make them.

I think everyone who has purchased the dining package for upcoming cruise, had best print the advertisement before they change it.

Changing in mid-stream is common for RCCI and they could care less. Remember when you booked a cruise and it was stated that room service was free - until it wasn't when it came time to cruise? The website still said complementary room service, not just breakfast, well after the change was made.

The RCCI site advertised the aerial show in the Centrum as the WOW factor experience on Grandeur though it hadn't been operational for three years.

They do it all the time and they do not assume responsibility.

How many entrees and how many times do you really need to eat?!   Let's go back to the days of quality over quantity.

Cruising was amazing 15-20 years ago.   Multi-course meals.   Good quality.  Perfect portions.   Excellent service.

I cannot stand food waste...which is why I abhor buffets, UDP, and mediocre-poor quality.    Less is more.

I look at it like this:

How many people do you think ever even try to order multiple entrees? So ridiculously few, it cannot possibly matter; and it's simply easy enough to "schedule" a second meal at the same restaurant, it's just a stupid exercise all around to not just let those few people who one entree is not enough for to be able to get another.

And to those folks who repeatedly chime in with stupid statements about how RCCL can legally change things anytime, well sure, of course they can, and that's not the discussion point. The discussion here isn't about what RCCL can do, but it's about what they are doing, and should be doing, and how their particular choices to do something in a given way detract from or enhance the brand, as appropriate.

Even before the name change to "Unlimited Dining" you could still readily go to the main dining room in addition to your specialty dining restaurant and then stop in at the Windjammer buffet and top it off with pizza. It's not like RCCL really is saving anything on the bottom line. And except for those engaging in binge and purge, one can generally only eat so much. So someone you've convinced to spend over and above the cruise fare for not just one night dining but for the entire length of the sailing essentially is getting told you can't trust anything RCCL says, writes, responds to online, so why exactly should anybody try to buy this package that is so unreliably defined?

Would you pay $13 for a drink if you only had a 50/50 chance they'd actually put alcohol in it? What if you discovered every specialty dining restaurant now had only a fixed menu with no selection just a specific appetizer, entree and dessert?

Because, as some say, RCCL can change the terms anytime. But there's also simply the matter of fraud when it comes to advertising something whose terms repeatedly change making the original claim under which you made the purchase false and misleading.

Everyone has reasons for everything they do.  It's not an issue for me, I can barely stand lunch and dinner in a specialty restaurant - it's too much food, but to each their own.  Royal offers multiple entrees in the verbiage so for those have room, order away, for now.

They recently had the $18 Drink package glitch....now apparently incorrect wording on a so called unlimited dinner package. Sounds to me like Royal Caribbean needs to hire better people to run their website! 🤔

That's been the case for many years, they know it, but choose to keep fumbling along.

I have gotten two entrees in the MDR on my waiters suggestion.

Yes, but that is in the main dining room not in the speciality restaurants.

you'd be surprised actually.    a couple can easily order 3-4 entrees just to try them all.  especially if it is included in the price of the package( we won't discuss this very common practice at MDRs)

a couple of times, we have been brought out a third entree without even asking by the  waiter. 'just to try'  I still drool every time I  remember the grape flatbread pizza at Palo on Disney many moons ago.  I clearly recall mentioning that I was intrigued by the concept but had my heart set on another entree.  our Russian waitress brought one any way.

it does create a lot of waste though.. 1-2 bites from each of us and the rest  sits there.

hmmm.. the ex supply specialist in me is now wondering.. do they do this in order to use up stock before it goes bad?  or to push something that isn't popular?

Exactly, we have been brought something to share, an Indian and a regular meal, a replacement for something we didn’t like- with, or without our consent.

How is this any different? People pay extra, to be disadvantaged?

I couldn’t eat two entrees and wouldn’t order two, but I don’t see the logic.

Since we are talking about dining packages, I have a question I haven't found answered yet. So when dining at Chops (or any other specialty restaurant) if I order the extra lobster or seafood tower, does that come in addition to an entrée I ordered? Or is that considered my entrée? Since its extra $, I am assuming its in addition to my entrée, but with the way Royal is cutting costs and changing policies daily, just wanted to be sure.

Yes, as it is an additional charge it is in addition to your entree

One of the main reasons companies change promotions is when they discover that too many people abuse it.  For example, there is an all you can eat restaurant that changed the rules to "Within a 2 hour period".  If many people go to specialty restaurant and order multiple entrees and do not finish them, then eventually, they will modify the package.  Same with drinks.  Way too many people were sharing, so what happened?  It was changed.  Change happens after abuse occurs.

I had the unlimited package on a 9 day cruise, and the ship had 7 restaurants.  I can't think of a single night that I was hungry after eating one entrée.  If you are that hungry, than you can find plenty of food on a ship.

So I guess you could dine in a specialty restaurant, get your one entree, and then come back and do it again later.

Until they realize this loophole.

I know they have had less than desired IT. I wonder if it’s actually poor communications between Royal and IT.
