Mostly a rain event inland here in Ormond Beach. Bridges still closed from mainland to beachside. The pool is over the top so we had lots of rain. Volusia has reported only 2k power outages. We were lucky.
A&L_Ont #1152 Posted September 4 (edited) For dinner last night we ate at the Coastal Kitchen. No high tide warning there. After 15 years of marriage, Lisa and I for the first time ordered the exact same dinner. She gave me the look of, you better not be turning into my dad. He always ordered second, and never different than her mom. Pork belly app. Filet. As we at dinner we were literally hugging the coast of Cuba. I could see the lights on buildings. And on the same theme of food, this was awaiting our arrival in the cabin. These two emails came shortly after one another last night. Both made me laugh. More so the second one. And then then we went to the casino. Took $80 and came home with this. It was looking bleak until Lisa pulled a rabbit out of her, well you get the idea. A&L_Ont #1153 Posted September 4 And then there was the sunset. I have what seems like a million pics, but scaled it back to these. You can clearly see the coast of Cuba in this photo.

A&L_Ont #1155 Posted September 4 So, what does today bring? Lisa to the beach pool. Owen to the sports court and water slides. me to find the back to back meeting today. Be curious to see how many are doing it. Some packing for our cabin swap. Tips to our stewards and folks who made our journey memorable. The Weather Channel has disappeared from channel 37. It has been replaced with disembarkation information. The ship is now going the fastest since Wednesday of last week. 16 knots. We also have one of the most interesting maps ever.

A&L_Ont #1157 Posted September 4 And this is why you either buy cruise insurance or do not cruise at hurricane season. Save this photo and share it with whomever questions buying insurance. We might have a few more thread on the main RC boards this year, or on Social Media.

And buy it from another company besides the one RC uses. Their insurance is worthless for weather. I learned that lesson this time too 🙂 this hurricane has taught me a lot. NEVER again in peak of hurricane season and NEVER again purchase cruiseline travel insurance. Edited September 4 by ryano

Damn, that sounds like an insurance advertisement. 42 minutes ago, Sherman793 said: WOW on the sunset pics! Welcome home and enjoy your second leg of your trip! Schonert #1163 Posted September 4 A &L Ont, could not send you a message, do you mind if I use a couple of your photos to teach my Air Cadets. Those photos of the Towering Cumulus by itself is amazing.

Port Everglades looked good though. Hopefully you guys will be clear by this afternoon. 🙂

We buy a heavy duty insurance policy just for these types of things. Thank you Andrew for taking the time to keep us updated with not only your adventure but important news and breath taking photos. Those clouds were amazing.

Nerd note: the grey region on either side of the track represents the amount of deviation the ship can make from the planned route without the captain's authorization.

niksmom630 #1172 Posted September 4 Enjoy your extended vacation! We certainly enjoyed ours currently sitting at the airport in FL, and it’s eerily quiet. We were thru security in 5 minutes. Definitely an atypical experience! Looking forward to following along with you, Lisa and Owen for a few more days! Mom*3 #1173 Posted September 4 This may have been addressed earlier in the thread, and I may have missed it. But, does RC offer any laundry specials during these extended cruises? I am a classic over packer and would be fine, but several in my family are not. 😉

Even nerdier comment from me, if you look back at the TV ship map you can see the track overlapped and bolder. 17 minutes ago, Mom*3 said: This may have been addressed earlier in the thread, and I may have missed it. You will be fine, the others in your group will be in trouble.
