WCAS74 Posted August 26, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2019 Hello, Does anyone have any recent experience with the wine package being available (or not) on the Sapphire Princess? We have been able to buy it on previous 10 day or more cruises, but I have read sporadic reports about it not always being available. We're trying to decide how much wine to bring on our upcoming cruise out of Southampton.😊 Thanks so much.

Astro Flyer Posted August 26, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2019 I don’t know about these ships but the Gold package was available on my 7-day April cruise on the Royal Princess. Not sure if that’s a fleetwide change or only on that ship. With the new wine list not having any wine at the Silver package’s $31 limit it’s been discontinued & only the Gold package is available. A few posts have stated they were told that the wine packages are in the process of being modified but haven’t read about any new wine packages being implemented yet. Gold Package (wines up to $45 per bottle list price) plus 18% gratuity 7 bottles -- $217 (average of $31 per bottle) 10 bottles -- $290 (average of $29 per bottle) 12 bottles -- $336 (average of $28 per bottle)
Ebony J Posted August 26, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2019 We were on the Sapphire Princess 7 day Norwegian Fjords cruise 10th to 17th August and were surprised that the wine package was available (Gold Package).😀 They had advertising leaflets placed on the tables in the Horizon Court when we embarked. We signed up with our waiter in the evening in the Santa Fe dining room - however when we tried to order our wine, we were told they did not have this on board. We made a second choice, and were told this was not available either. We cancelled the wine package and just paid for drinks as we went. Hope this helps - you may want to check on the availability of your favourite wines before you order. 🙄
WCAS74 Posted August 27, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted August 27, 2019 Thanks so much for the info. Good to know it has been available. Our cruise isn’t until October, so hopefully they will restock (or maybe run out of even more😬). It’s interesting that they advertised it & then didn’t have all the wines. We’ve always had to ask about it. 😊 Thanks again.

I know they have been changing the wine packages but it time to get their act together and actually do it. Very frustrating.

Found a good selection; only one or two were OOS.
Steelers36 Posted August 27, 2019 #8 Share Posted August 27, 2019 Wish they offered a 4 bottle package at say $33 to $35/bottle. Packages are more wine than we would consume on a 7 - 10 night cruise.
