missholly24 Posted September 3, 2019 #31 Share Posted September 3, 2019 Its a lanyard but I did see a personal comment by the one and only John Heald (lol) that says he is aware it is "not the favorite platinum gift they've given away" but "it will be changing shortly". So thats good news!!

Carnival can't match that offer. In over 40 Carnival cruises, I think I had one free dinner. After maybe 6 NCL cruises I got the 2 free meals and will continue to get that every time I sail NCL. I know, doesn't compare to a lanyard............and to be fair, I do get to the Diamond brunch with the Captain on Carnival. Carnival could just start charging for one of their current free food places, and then give dinners to Platinum members for free. See, they could match it by doing this. I hope they do not.

We were on the Bliss and was shocked at the number of for pay opportunities on the ship. Carnival will not be drastically changing the loyalty;ty program. They must have a warehouse full of cheap lanyards down in Miami. It’s very bad for the brand image. Some Carnival V.P. should have quickly and quietly burned down the warehouse full of lanyards and replaced them with something else, even if it meant going back to one of their previous platinum gifts that wasn’t mocked out by the very people that you are trying to reward and impress. Here is one last closing thought. Please remove your lanyards from the ship...these guys are just cheap enough where they may attempt to re-gift them. Let’s get through the lanyards as quickly as possible so we can hopefully move onto something more appreciated. I can’t believe that the pissing and moaning about the gift never stops. How about trying to be grateful that you can vacation so much. How much money have you spent to sit here and whine about a free gift. A free gift that they could eliminate at any time. A free gift that they don’t have to give in the first place. If you only cruise a certain line for the minor perks that you receive that is sad. I hope my children learn earn better than to cry that they got something for free and don’t like it.
blyle Posted September 6, 2019 #46 Share Posted September 6, 2019 If Carnival can give a Gambler a Free balcony for 2, free drink Pkg for 2, $500 Casino Money, Free Parking or airport pickup, Platinum Status during the cruise with all benefits, Invitation to special parties with gift bags, Early room access with preferred alcohol and non alcohol bottles waiting, complimentary shore excursion for 2, treats and gifts delivered to the room free social WIFI and waived room service fees..........They should be able to afford something better than what they are giving their most loyal customers!!! We buy shore excursions, cheers packages, souvenirs, jewelry, specialty reservations, bingo cards, gamble, and spend lots of money on cruises!!! IT's not about perks but it's about fairness to loyal cruisers!

Gamblers have more to lose for nothing - what does it cost them to give them that stuff when most of the time they drop all their money and more. Loyal guests pay for things but carnival has to give them what they pay for Android costs the cruise line to offer it. I gamble but nowhere near the amount to get something for free. But I have never dropped the cost of a cruise in the casino - and to me that’s a win! Loyalty is not a thing anymore in corporate America. Corporate greed is prevalent in all the for service industries. Ships are all full and they know most cruisers will return. What do they care about loyalty. Casino rates and loyalty are two different things, comparing these two and ‘benefits’ from each is dribble. I honestly feel the same in regards to loyalty and corporate structure. I see nothing different today than in the past. Would love to hear the corporate greed tie is to a loyalty gift.

The loyalty gift is one aspect of a larger picture. I was responding to the comment if carnival can give so much to gamblers than the loyal cruisers should get.... I agree with you it’s not the same and my point is that profits are what drive every company and not loyalty not just Carnival. It’s the bigger picture that I am talking about
