It looks almost like it's heading straight for Port Canaveral. I hope it weakens.  We will be on that same cruise on Sept 7th.  good luck to you!  Hopefully the storm won't impact your cruise.

Curious too. We are on the Breeze with you on Saturday.  Looking at the latest report, it looks like the storm will hit Port Canaveral 8AM on Sunday. We should be gone by then since we leave at 3:30 on Sat!  Fingers crossed we get our full cruise!

I don't think our itinerary will change since it is Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany Bay, and Costa Maya. No bad weather there so far.

On the same cruise as you (Saturday). The big worry is what we have to cruise through to get around the storm and if we can do so in time. Judging by all the opening cabins, a lot are cancelling!

I think they are skipping grand turk and heading to Port Canaveral tonite to keep ahead of the storm. I thought someone would be checking Cruise Critic from the ship. They are in for a bumpy ride more than us.

According to CNN, this was just posted

"Carnival Breeze, which was supposed to stop in San Juan on Wednesday, will stay at sea instead."

This is what Captains do for a living. Keeping their guests safe is paramount to all cruise lines.

Absolutely.  The bigger worry is will the home port allow ships in and out.  Once out, the Captain will not end up in a dangerous storm.

Rain, rough waves - sure.  But passengers and crew will be in no danger.

We have seen Captains skirting around small squalls, pretty cool. Their radar is very accurate. They are not using the weather channel.
