Coco Cay Balloon

Recommended Posts

I’m thinking of buying tickets for the up up & away ballon on Coco Cay.  For those of you who have done it, was the balloon worth the price?

I guess it depends on your definition of  “worth the price.”   We lucked into a pre cruises price of $24.99 pp so at that price it was worth it for us. (it eventually listed for $54.99 pp ). Because  of some upper surface winds, our session only went half way up but it was still lots of fun with great views.

Well if they don't they'll have to go to Oz to find it!   But at least Dorothy will find her way home!  😜

I did it on my recent Symphony sailing. Is it incredibly expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? I'd say so.

Would I do it again on a return visit to Coco Cay? Probably not.

They were smart to put that tracking device on it. After that grand cayman sighting it got into the upper jet stream.

Spectrum of the seas is scheduled to pick it up in China on Thursday. FedEx will ship it overnight to Nassau for Friday delivery. 😕

Royal Caribbean's chief meteorologist just tweeted photos showing that the Coco Cay waterslides are still standing post-Dorian and the balloon is deflated and under weights. Great news, thought we obviously don't know when Coco Cay will reopen. Theoretically I'm supposed to go there this Friday on my shortened Symphony of the Seas cruise.

We paid $58.99/person in June.  I believe we were able to go almost all the way up.  The views were incredible, and we got some amazing pictures.  It was definitely worth it for a one time thing.  We won't pay to go up again if it's just the two of us.
