Horizon or Vista HDMI TV Port

Recommended Posts

I would like to bring a DVD player to connect to the tv. Are there AUX ports or an open HDMI port that you can get to on the back of the tv's? Or at the very least an hmdi for your laptop to connect to the TV? Definite information is appreciated.

No.

While there are HDMI ports built into the TV, they are disabled.
Also, the remote doesn't have the option to switch "input" and you can't manually do it either.

So the HDMI literally does not work anyway?

They have the port disabled so that you can't use it.
We had our laptop with us and always carry an HDMI for use in the hotels.
Tried it and no dice.

Wasn't too bad.

My laptop has a 15" screen, so we were able to watch the movies I downloaded on it without too much problem.
And their selection of in room movies wasn't too bad.

I know they had problems in the past with people bypassing the in room video feed and hooking up their own devices.
The only issue is they usually don't bother to hook everything back up before the leave, so the next guests have to call in to have the tv set back up.  (plenty of stories about that).
They must have figured it was just better to disable the HDMI port altogether. The video feed actually comes in through what looks to be a CAT6 cable (although I might be misremembering).
