So it seems the Sushi is not included in the cruise fare?   Or is "basic" sushi included and "special" - abalone etc - charged for?

As mentioned, there are a few specialty items for which there is an extra charge (Toro, Uni and Abalone).  Just like some super-premium spirits and wines.  But as Keith said, the regular items are so extensive and varied, I've only gone to the connoisseur menu once - for uni.  And it was worth it.

Otherwise, everything on the sushi/sashimi menu is included in your visit to Umi Uma or the Sushi Bar (located within Umi Uma). And there's no "three piece limit" or anything like that.  If it's in stock, it can be yours.  Along with Prego, you are allocated a certain number of visits to these two restaurants each cruise (depending on cruise length), with additional visits charged at $30 each.

Personally, I think that's probably the best $30 meal you can find in the world.  And that's after having the included ones.

Hambagahle, sushi and sashimi are very much included in the cruise fare.  There is a connoisseur menu of a few items which have a cost.  You can order any amount of sushi and sashimi as you care.  The restaurant is under Chef Nobu Matsuhisa of Nobu restaurants on land.  I would say with the amount of sushi, sashimi and appetizers, entrees, etc. we order the bill on land for the two of us would easily be in the $300.00 to $400.00 range and that is before taxes/tips (depending on where in the world you dine) and drink.

Jackie posted a portion of the sushi/sashimi menu (just a few lines).  It is very extensive.  I would say 30 or more items.

Some examples of what is included:

The menu is so extensive I have not had the need to order from the connoisseur menu.

I agree with Keith on the evening attire, at least in my (more limited than his) experience on Crystal. If anything, I found Crystal to be a bit dressier than Regent, at least during the world cruise. So it may be the newbie phenomenon.

And ditto to Stickman re the robes. Particularly in the cabins where there is just the reach-in closet, we have our stewardess remove the bulkier robes. Love those light kimono-style robes in the warm/hot climates!

Jackie, I'm glad you are enjoying Crystal. There's much to like there, and it sounds like you've found a quite a bit of it.

If you are in a PH or above, there is no additional charge for going additional times to either Prego or Umi Uma. The only consideration is if they have room.

We are in a CP suite so we will be dining again in Prego and Umi Uma (at no cost).

Since CC is  my hobby, it is difficult not to post (plus we are in Skagway - a place that we have been numerous times and will not be getting off of the ship).  The suggestion of posting on this thread only is a good idea.

Dined in Prego last night and it was good but not great.  I suspect that the area of Italy where the recipes come from likely affect the taste, etc.  My lasagna was good but I wondered why there was 50% red sauce and 50% white sauce under the lasagna.  Both of us loved the mushroom soup in a bread cup (and I did take photos - will eventually post).  The wine was also good.

Note:  The breads/pastries on Crystal are excellent overall!

Okay - the best thing about Crystal is Mark Ferris.  He needs to be cloned so that Regent guests get a chance to see such an amazing entertainer (piano/vocal/comedian) that embraces the audience in a way that I have not seen before.

Going to see if I can post any photos.

Next..... for some reason I take photos of floors.  I’m happy to report that the hallway carpeting on Crystal is as ugly as on Regent (intentional comparison).  One photo is of the floor (also in the shower) of the master bathroom.  I am in love with the changing colors but it is very difficult to photograph.

No clue what I posting - hoping that it is self explanatory.  I need to get the backlog of photos straightened out.  I see that I cut off part of the coffee/tea menu - if anyone wants to see the entire list, let me know.  The same with the special sushi part of the Umi Uma menu - just ask and I’ll take a better photo.

Better photos of computer room.  There is some work being done between here and “The Studio” which is where computer hands-on classes take place (we have two classes tomorrow).  The rest of the lessons are lectures with hand-outs available online.

Just learned that we will probably be back in the Japanese restaurant tonight where I will take some new photos.  I also took a photo of the included wine list but don’t know exactly where it is so I’ll simply take them again.  Hope that I’m not boring everyone with these photos.

So glad that you're continuing to post. As someone mentioned previously, if Regent folks are interested, I'm sure they can find

there way over here!! haha! Loving your photos and yup, that's some ugly carpet. Now we know the little Navigator isn't the only one that has dog doodles and pee on their carpeting!! (forgive me Crystal, but true!). Anyway, carpet doesn't make a cruise....

Happy you got to see and hear Mark. He's amazing. If you return to Crystal and he's on board, he'll remember you!

Please continue to post and most importantly, have fun!

Agree Rachel.  Speaking of food, it is only 11:00 a.m. and I’m starving.  A few more photos that I just took (tried to redo the sushi/sashimi photo and right page of the menu that I missed previously.   Took photo of top portion and then bottom portion.  Internet speed is amazing this morning (although almost everyone is ashore).

And, before leaving (for the moment), this is our very favorite lounge (that is where Mark Ferris performs) - so warm and inviting.

Hmmmmmm, I've spent time being lost on the ship and now I'm lost on CC.  As stated earlier, I was posting on two boards (due to requests from members on the Crystal board) but the emphasis was planned on being on the Regent board since my photos (as poor as they may be) are enlightening to Regent passengers.  Will try to think of how to get things transferred back to the Regent board.  I was also trying not to be disrespectful of posters on either board but, apparently, doing two boards was not the right thing for me to do.

Until I figure this out, there will be an interruption in posting.

Agree, I think most here would like to see your opinion vs the regulars on Crystal Board.  Assume, that is why it was moved?  Crystal Control?  Too bad.
