Suggestion on what to do in Tenerife for one day??

I have never been to Tenerife, Spain before.

 

For those who have been to Tenerife before, what did you do there for one day??

 

Any ideas / suggestions are welcome 😊

 

Also do we docked near Tenerife or a long way from it??

Research the island using hello canary islands.com or other sites like trip adv. which will give you a lot of info. Then narrow down to what interests you. Extremely easy to self navigate. Cigar is a good car rental. There were a lot of helpful posts here if you do a search. It really depends on what you like. 

We have been there 3x. We took a cab last time just to go to teide and up the cable car.  We like hiking and exploring and are not fans of giant tours. It's a beautiful island and a lot to do.

I’d hire a car with CICAR who have an office in the cruise terminal. You could visit Teide, Masca, Garachico, Tacaronte, Icod de los Vinos, La Orotava, La Laguna, Puerto de la Cruz etc

We got a taxis up the mountain. It was very scenic and if you have time take the cable car ,( we did not). It was unique and a lot cooler up the mountain (weather wise) and very different scenery then I was expecting. We had another port cancelled and this port added at the last minute or we would have rented a car.

We've used Cicar on many Canary islands.

Excellent cars, service, prices, reputation.

Yes, CICAR are on all the islands. They have been around quite a long time and have excellent reputation.
