MLB Game Day access on Vista?

Recommended Posts

I have purchased the value wifi package for our upcoming October cruise on the Vista. Does anyone have experience accessing MLB Game Day through this package?

Thanks in advance, and GO 'STROS! 😁

Sports bar. Likely they could have it.

You’re just asking about game day, not full Mlb tv right? If you can get past the initial loading screen, maybe. You’ll probably have better luck going to Astros.com and using game day there. There’s a much streamed down version (I think it’s still there) that uses far less data to load. It skips all the animations from using the app but gets you the plays

Think he’s talking about using his internet package. But I can tell you don’t watch much baseball. It’s almost all cable. Fox may have a game or two on weekends. I’m a mets fan and I watched two mets games in the sports bar on glory last week.

We were on the Valor in October 2017, out of Galveston. The sports bar did show the every World Series game, and yes the bar was packed (as well as the casino), and it was very loud.

Great question.

Wouldn't one game take up huge chunk of available wifi?  On ncl I know it was based on minutes, not data used.  I'd assume streaming would be slow and spotty?  Sorry I'm not more help.

I'm on Magic later today and can ask....BUT we just changed carriers (and changed back day later, long story) and I'm only getting data access via WiFi due to unforeseen network issues after re-establishing account.

(Off topic: SPECTRUM mobile sucks arse!!!)

Carnival has unlimited WiFi plans. Streaming isn’t a problem on vista. Vista has better internet than most of the fleet. I was able to use my YouTube TV subscription the entire cruise on vista but not on other ships. I had premium internet and OP has value which is one step down from premium.

That's exactly what we were thinking about! I guess at worst we can upgrade to premium if value doesn't work.

Great to know! Back in 2015, it was hit or miss on the Magic... the sports bar covered some of the post season games, but showed more football than anything...not that there is anything wrong with that 😆

Thanks everyone! I think we'll give value plan a shot and upgrade if we have to.

Not sure how relevant this is today since Carnival has made significant changes to their channel lineup, to include no longer carrying the major networks since January 1, 2018. I would think ESPN Carribean would show the World Series, but I don’t know that first hand.

You can only stream on the top tier plan

You're right the OP might have meant a tablet or phone.

You could have told the OP that in your first post. Would have been very helpful.

The MLB game day doesn't actually stream the game, just updates plays in near-real time. Might be a gray area...
