Looking for snorkeling at Molokini crater but our ship doesn't dock early enough.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a snorkeling excursion that starts closer to 10am or later. We rented a car in Maui and want to snorkel around the molokini crater, but our NCL doesn't dock until 8am on Sunday but most excursions start around 7 or 8am and we need something a tad later. Any recommendations? Monday isn't an option because we have other plans.

Thanks in advance,

Jannette

The issue there is that typically conditions are best early in the day, So I'm not sure anyone will be able to help.  However, The large shops tend to run big boats, so it's almost certain they won't be able to work with you.  I would suggest giving Maui Diving a call at (808) 667-0633.  If anyone could help they could, eith directly, or putting you in touch with someone who could.

Here's an afternoon Molokini snorkel

Or....if by any chance you'd consider substituting a 2 or 3 hour whale watch the very best in Maui is this. They have tours all day long up till 4:30pm.

Please be aware that the trade winds typically pick up after noon in Maui which can make the water pretty rough with wind blown chop.  This is why there aren't many afternoon charters and also why they're typically cheaper.  If you're prone to sea sickness, you'll definitely want to plan on medication for any afternoon on the water in Maui.
