St Johns or Megans Bay again?

You won't be disappointed if you go to Trunk, but as with any beach, best to get there early so you can enjoy it before the crowds get there and detract from the natural beauty of the beach. The beaches take on a different character when there are hoards of people on them, imo.

Yes, so Cinnamon Bay or another even less-visited beach would be our choice, but if you want the amenities that Magens offers Trunk is it. Magens and Trunk are the most touted and so the most visited beaches.

You didn’t include your port, arrival date, or port times, but figure 2+ hours travel time and $50/pp + entry fee. Going on your own is the way to go of course, and your taxi driver on STJ will offer an island tour which is nice for a first visit...total price with the tour is ~$70/pp...

For more feedback there are tons of threads on the topic of STJ vs staying on STT...You will get more of the same opinions here...

Yes, plenty of time needs to be allowed for Trunk Bay!

Ideally one would be able to spend a few hours at one of the beautiful STJ beaches and a couple hours in Cruz Bay and still have a few hours to get back to the ship. But even with just 7 hours in port, the taxi and ferry systems are excellent and very reliable which make STJ an easy DIY option. As with any self-excursion you do need to allow for any delays in your chosen itinerary, whether on STJ or STT, and or STJ your plan should include a return ferry from STJ with the next hourly ferry as a safety net just in case.
