Saving Photos off card

Hi advice please, I don't want to have to take my laptop with me on my next trip but would prefer not to keep all my shots on the SD cards, what alternatives do I have ?

I was thinking of getting an external hard drive that I could connect to a pc onboard ship, would this work? Thanks in anticipation.

I have never been on a ship where they allowed access to the USB ports. Norovirus isn't the only virus they try to prevent the spread of.

What volume of shots are you talking about? I use my Kindle Fire to back up images to a 128gb micro-SD card I keep in its external card slot. If you regularly shoot hundreds of gigabytes of RAW files, you may want to get something like LaCie's DJI copilot. It has 2TB of storage and will read cards directly.

No matter what path you choose. I wouldn't delete photos from the SD cards until you are home and your images are verified safe. Cards are cheap and there is no reason to reuse them while traveling.
