If you have to cancel.....

Recommended Posts

If you have to cancel your cruise under the 90 day period. And you have royal insurance. And it would be for a medical reason (possibly the big C)

Do you just get your money back, or can you get a fcc. I got a 40% off casino rate. Don't know how that happened. I am not a big gambler. So it was a great deal. Probably a mistake, a once and done.

I tease the family we will have to work any necessary treatments around my cruise schedule. So please don't flame me for even considering this.

Just curious about canceling and what my options would be. Would i have lost that 40% off.

You would get your money back (whatever you actually paid) if you cancel for a covered medical reason.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but regardless whatever it is I wish you a speedy recovery.

I think it would depend on what the insurance policy says (I personally don't know much about it). But I do ope for a speedy recovery of whoever is ill.

There are certain time periods within the 90 days that gets you partial refunds.

For the remainder of the fare, you will need to file a claim with the insurance company.  Yes, even if you purchased the coverage through Royal, it is actually a policy with an insurance company.

They will not automatically send you ANY MONEY.  You have to file a claim.  And you will need to supply them with certain documents to prove your claim.  See the policy and the company website.  Even call them.

Whether you get cash back or a FCC, it will only be for the amount that you actually paid for the cruise (less any deductible, etc., depending on the insurance policy in question).

You do not get price protection for your "replacement" cruise at the rate you got for this cruise.

The policy is insuring the money you paid for the cruise, not insuring the price of the cruise fare.

I had to cancel a cruise two weeks before sail date because of a medical diagnosis. At the time, I had Royal Caribbean offered insurance.

After providing  the required paperwork, I received a 100% refund of exactly what I had paid for the cruise  fare and any pre-payments such as gratuities or excursions. There was no future cruise credit  offered. Your 40% off reduced the cruise fare that you paid, what you paid  is what you might receive back.

Are you asking if will you receive a future 40% off certificate to use it another time? If that is your question, the answer is not likely.

I hope that you get good diagnosis and that you were able to take your cruise
