The Devolution of Spin To Win (which I call Spin to Lose)

Recommended Posts

This refers to the special slot machine in the casino for which C&A members get special "gold" coins to play.

Quite often, I get nothing.  (thus the label, Spin to Lose) 😄  😄 😄

For years, the lowest prize was a Royal Caribbean keychain, either the regular RC one or a Casino Royale one.

Then it was suddenly a "raffle ticket", for a raffle that was held at 10 P.M. on the last night of your cruise.

Today on the Adventure, it was ANOTHER "gold" coin!

I have about 200 of them. Should have tossed into the ocean prior to Dorian.

This is the Treasure Coast 🤣

We stopped playing them when they went from giving the key chains to the raffle tickets

We have kept a few coins as souvenirs.  Last trip Charlie won a Casino Royale T-shirt which our eleven year old granddaughter loves!

I'll bet they are losing lots of coins.  I would not be surprised to see an "automatic" spin-to-win machine connected to the onboard account.  Just swipe your SeaPass card and you get your appropriate number turns on the wheel, no coins needed, no taking the time of casino cashiers for a "no revenue" task.

We kept all of the coins from a 4 cruise run in 2018 and used them all at once. 24 coins and all we won were useless raffle tickets.  I agree the coins are better than any prizes they give out!

Bingo! won a t shirt a few years ago and our granddaughter loved it. She brought home her Oasis Coke cup 3 years ago and uses  it every visit with us. Gotta love Royal and all the perks.

They have tried to uglify them by putting big black marks on them. Not sure if you can wash it off.

We turned in 180+ a few years ago. Turns out they are slightly different and about half got rejected. The cashier gave me replacements, but she wasn't amused.

We won a couple of polos and a ton of key chains.

It's just fun to spin the wheel

The only way to win is to put the coin on eBay

Would love the know how many times a year (if that!) the jackpot is paid out on the spin to win machine.
