Ship models

Recommended Posts

We have been getting models of the ships we go on over the yrs.  We are going on Holland for the first time in a couple weeks and we’re wondering if they have models of the ship in the gift shop and how decent do they look?  I know they aren’t anything great in quality normally, but they are a nice souvenir.

I saw small ones, 12 " long, and thought they were quite expensive ($40) for the quality.  I prefer the excellent colour photos of the ships available in the Photo Gallery.

The ones they sell in the onboard shops look like this:

If you really want to spend some serious $$$ to get an authentic scale model, go to this guy:

Thanks for the info.  I usually have a tough time with the $30/$40 they cost on board, but it’s what the wife wants.  I would really have a tough time paying a couple hundred.

Copper, thanks for the reference for ship models, but everything I looked at in the Cruise Ship section said "sold out", so I am wondering what they would cost if available, such as the smallest ones.

The bigger ones (scale 1:900) run in the neighborhood of $300+ and they also appear on eBay at times. Unsure about the smaller ones

We also collect ;but ,not scale ships . We collect Iron wood  sea creatures & land animals which are both hand & machine carved .  They really look great . You need to be at  the flea markets in Mexico ports to see them
