I just got the email that gives me the option to keep the BW perks or get the $50 OBC.  With 2 teens in the cabin, we are keeping those dang soda packages!

i probably wont get it as I never got the original email. Who knows where they are sending these emails. Probably to friends of ours that cruised with us before .

The person from Mr Bayleys office said I would be getting an email further explaining our options. Let’s see if I get anything.

I am booked in OV Balcony rooms on Harmony for my next two cruises, so I'm losing nothing, but seeing how Royal is treating it's customers here is making me want to spend my money elsewhere.

This is totally unacceptable. What next, will they start yanking obc? Bumping people from their booked cabin if they can sell them at a higher price?

Email received. I removed the link.  It should be in the email you get.

ABOUT YOUR UPCOMING TRAVELS

Dear Guest,

Every once in a while, we wish we were in the time travel business instead of the cruise business. Especially, after our recent change to our DINE - DRINK - DISCOVER program. You see, after some research showing that guests weren't using the program's amenities, we decided to discontinue it and provide a credit to use onboard instead for those already confirmed.

Some guests really liked the change. For others, our announcement did not go over very well, So, while we can't go back in time - we have listened to your feedback and hear you, loud and clear.

On that note, we're happy to share that we are letting you choose! If you prefer to keep the DINE - DRINK - DISCOVER program, you can. Or, if you prefer the $50 Onboard Credit to use how you'd like and where'd you like, you can choose that. You get to decide!

What's next? Please <link removed> to let us know your preference by October 4th, 2019.

Thank you for your patience and understanding and more importantly, for the opportunity to make this right. Here are some housekeeping details:

  • If you go with the Onboard Credit Offer, it will be added to your reservation by October 11th.
  • If you chose to be grandfathered in to the original program, you will receive your amenities while onboard.
  • If you don't select an option by the date above, we will take that as you have selected the Onboard Credit and we will add it to your booking by October 11th.
  • This offer is valid for guests that booked on or before September 18, 2019.

Now, back to planning your awesome cruise vacation and we'll get back to working on that time machine! We really hate disappointing our guests and hope this makes it better. Can't wait to have you onboard, where the real magic happens.

Sincerely,

Aurora Yera-Rodriguez

My TA fowarded an email saying to be on the lookout for the second email. We're just taking the $50 since we're in a CP on Oasis, and would rather have the freedom of OBC than lunch at Giovannis (we loved Sabor, RIP), so it's moot, but I'm waiting for the email with the link currently.

You might want to check what email RCL has because it states if you don't choose by Oct 4th it will automatically go to the $50 OBC.

i checked earlier and i have the right email in my profile. I have only had 2 email addresses in the last 10 years and they are both active and neither one has gotten anything. Even checked the spam boxes.

what worries me is that 2 cruises ago We had about 12 people that went and they were sending things to the wrong peoples emails. I was getting emails meant for others and vice versa.

You may know this, but if you are book through a TA, then the email may have gone to your TA.

thats what i thought when I didn't get the original email. I contacted her and said it should come directly from RCI. She sent me a copy of what RCI sent to the TA’s.

Thank you to everyone who has been posting here and keeping people like me who meet all of the qualifications for receiving the Dine-Drink-Discover benefits, but have received absolutely no emails or any other communication from RCCL about this whole situation. I would have never known about any of this if it wasn’t for the awesome members of Cruise Critic coming here and posting about it. Thank you!

Since I didn’t get the email with the link to opt in or out of the Dine-Drink-Discover benefits or a response to my first email, I have sent another email requesting that we keep our benefits. I have also requested a confirmation that our benefits have been reinstated. If I don’t hear back room this message, I’ll be starting on Monday with phone calls. I’m being nice, but also making my displeasure known with regards to the lack of communication. I’ll let you know what happens next.

RCI--I posted the letter, should be above this comment.

Was this an answer to your inquiry as I (do not know about others) have not received any correspondence as to options for our Harmony April 12. '20 cruise.  I would think there would be general wide announcements regarding the options available especially since there's a due date of Oct. 4th.

I think I am going to take the $50 as the soda package is redundant since I now have the "mistaken" $18 deluxe drink package. However, I am curious about one thing. Can the OBC be used in the casino, and if so, how?

Go to the casino cashier and ask for a cash advance (don't mention OBC).  They will charge 5% for this.

I booked directly through RC in the UK and got the initial email about the OBC and the follow up one for our Harmony Oct 2020 cruise. OBC actually suits us better as we have the unlimited dining plan.
