upwarduk #1 Posted September 19 At the moment, there is an offer that booking Aqua is the same price as Balcony or Concierge. I see this as an excellent opportunity to book Aqua. We are Elite and in the past we have had 2C balcony for 2D price. Can I claim an upgrade in Aqua? Many thanks.

Yes you can use your Captains Club benefit and pay for a A2 Aqua Class cabin and get a A1 Cabin!

On Silhouette we love the A2s under Persian Garden. Very quiet, no overhang, close but not too close to an elevator etc. Therefore we decline the upgrade since we do not consider it as such. aml3679 #7 Posted September 24 It says in the Captain's Club rules that you can get a category upgrade UP TO Aqua Class. There are many that like AQ but I have heard too many people complain about noise from the treadmills. Also, it was too much money for us. We will stick with our C2 cabins.
hcat #8 Posted September 24 We usually stick with A 2... in quiet areas
Cruise a holic #9 Posted September 24 Having sailed in all stateroom categories, except inside- I am not a fan of AQ. Many of the cabins are poorly located. Under the gym, whirlpools etc. So if you truly want to try AQ, check the deck above your cabin carefully. Try to be under the hair salon or a massage treatment room. Avoid the gym and busy pool areas. We didn't love Blu. It gets tired as for the past few years, it is the same old same old- no menu changes and the tables for two are too close. However many like the feel of restaurant dining vs. Catering hall style dining. I prefer a well located balcony cabin, midship with cabins above and below and the money saved dine nightly in speciality restaurants. However if the price is the same and you want captain club points- you get more with CC and AQ then regular balcony. Enjoy your cruise
gold1953 #10 Posted September 24 We actually much prefer Blu over the MDR so we would sail Aqua at anytime there is such a deal. We love the breakfast in Blu! Of course we are always careful about cabin location. 5 points a night is nice also
andyfriend80 #11 Posted September 24 Horses for courses. We have been Aqua (A1 & A2) , Concierge and Balcony. We love Blu and have never had a problem with either A1 or A2 categories. Sadly we can no longer travel Aqua as we have a little one.
Turtles06 #12 Posted September 24 We’ve never sailed in Aqua, but folks considering this category on “revolutionized” ships should look into whether additional Aqua class cabins have been added and whether there have been reports of overcrowding in Blu. We were just on the Summit, and a couple of folks in Aqua class mentioned that with the additional Aqua class cabins, Blu (at least on our sailing) was so crowded that the staff were thinking about opening earlier for dinner.
louise1809 #13 Posted September 24 If you booked in UK your upgrade options may be different to those in the US? Would check with your travel agent.
HS2BS #14 Posted September 24 We have sailed on the Silhouette in aqua many times, b2b this past February(b2b again in 02/2020, but not in aqua). Locations do make a big difference in the noise from above. A2 Cabins on the even numbered side are under the the shops and Persian Gardens and the odd number side(port) are under the Spa Cafe(prep noise starts very early) and under the gym and locker rooms. A1’s are under the pool area and are noisy from sliding deck chairs and entertainment some evenings. Look at the deck plains before you book. The Equinox is exactly the same Reflection is slightly different. Hal
