Pride of America Embarkation Suite Guests

I have searched as best I can for the answer to this but I have had no luck. I must admit the “new” message boards are really frustrating to me. Sooo I apologize if this is a redundant thread.

 

Can anyone tell me what the earliest guests staying in suites (in this case owners suite) can board the Pride of America? What time can you start check-in in the priority lounge?

We were on in August and got to the pier at 10:30am.   We checked in and were taken to the suite area and greeted by one of the concierge and given the freestyle daily.    They had pastries and coffee and juice available but we were taken onboard before we had anything.    Rooms weren’t ready until about 1.

Generally speaking, with most cruises on NCL, priority boarding begins at 11-11:30.  This depends on how quickly the previous guests are disembarked and the various resets that have to be done before fresh guests can come aboard.

That is good to know. I have mostly sailed Carnival so far. I am looking forward to the “Norwegian experience” 😎

When we were on POA last December, we arrived at the port around 9:45. There wasn’t even a line to drop off our checked luggage at the X-ray machine. By 10:00 we were through security and in the suite guests lounge. We waited about five mins to check-in. After checking in we had to wait another five or ten minutes and we were taken in a group of around 15 people on a tour of the ship and finally dropped off where we were introduced to Spencer, our butler, who took us to our room. Although our room wasn’t totally ready we were able to drop our carry-ons off. We explored the ship for an hour or so until the room was ready around 11:30. 

We loved POA and Hawaii in general. I’m sure you will also.

Wow! It sounds like such a nice relaxing way to start your cruise. I’m used to the madness at port of Miami for most of my Caribbean cruises. Realy looking forward to this trip.😁

I have a question about the suites on Pride of America...there is very little info on this ship.  Do the suite guests have a special place for breakfast like on the other ships?  Jewel class has access to Cagneys.

I did 2 cruises in August.  There is a suite waiting area to the right. A few snacks.   Boarding time completely depends on when ready.   I actually was a “special “ guest and was first to board- escorted by the General Manager.    😀😀😀

Yes, we dined in Cagney's for breakfast and lunch.

Also note that, unlike other ships in the fleet, you can't get Cagney's delivered to your room for breakfast or lunch.

Thank you.  I have taken this cruise 4 times but never even thought about a suite at that time.  Now after sailing in suites I find I enjoy them.  I am actually looking at the suites on deck 13 overlooking the pool deck.  Unless things have changed there is not much activity in the evenings. I remember how peaceful the ship was at night.

If you are looking at the owners suites, I think the ones on deck 13 have larger living areas but do not have a hot tub on the balcony if that matters to you.

If they have a 13 overlooking the pool those aren't OS.  The OS on 13 face forward.

 

But you are right the OS on 13 don't have a jacuzzi on the deck.  Those on 13 were added two drydocks ago.

 

The POA has the widest variety and layouts of OS in the fleet.

Yes, with so many to choose from, it was hard to make a choice. The hot tub on the balcony was what tipped us towards the OS.

We were on the repo from SFO to Hawaii that was supposed to be 11 days but it got changed to 10 days within 36 hours of departure time.  At first, our tub didn't work.  I think it was the second day and I ran into someone who was able to get a technician up there right away and it was fixed.  It was fun to use it on the way to Hawaii and the other days too.

We were on the POA last Dec in 13020, aft facing suite, overlooking pool. There was some noise from the pool deck, you can hear the bands that play down there.  That did not bother us. Our biggest issue is that you could see into our cabin from the adjacent 13 and 14th deck. Especially at night with the lights on in our cabin. If you want privacy, you have to draw the curtains. That being said, the balcony is the same way.  It’s a trade off, those suites (SE) are a bit bigger but less privacy.

Ohh! I agree with you. I think I would like the music but we wouldn’t like being on display like that. 😳

Is bottled water included with the owners suite? Or the Hawaii beverage package?

Yes, It used to be Aquafina but NCL briefly had their own branded water and now it seems they are moving to.JUST water.  Also looks like move to refillable toiletries and different brand.  

 

DOS and OS get the water, soda, bottle of champagne, plus choice of three bottles of wine from a list.  Doubt and haven't seen any talk of bev pkg.
