Refundable OBC

Recommended Posts

On our last couple cruises we had a small credit (under $10) showing on our final account statement. I assumed our on file credit card would be credited, but I assumed wrong. Both times, nothing. Does anyone know what the NCL policy is regarding reimbursement of refundable OBC.

If it is under $50 ask at the Guest Services on the last evening, you should get it back in cash.

You can get the remaining back in cash.

which is usually a check in the mail that can arrive in like 2-4 weeks after the cruise

A small amount i.e. $50 see Guest Services (Credit Desk) for cash disbursement.

For a LARGE amount a check will be mailed to your address on file for the booking.

In either event check with Guest Services - definitely if you had REFUNDABLE OBC

non-refundable OBC can not be cashed out (except by playing the Casino)

We sail in January and I have been thinking about buying $20-$50 in OBC each week or 2 just so that when we get on the boat we will have it and it wont seem like such a big hit in the pocketbook to pay at the end for on board expenses.  What all can we use it on besides drinks, excursions and specialty dining?  Can you use it in gift shop or casino?  Also can you use it toward the end of the cruise gratuity.  It is nice  to know if we dont use it we can get it back.  That was one reason I have not added any $ on our account yet because I wasnt sure if you get back $ you didnt use after the cruise. Thanks!

Did you get the drinks package? I wouldn't put more than $200 on my account.  I don't purchase much on board at all, if you pre-pay your daily service charge you don't really need to add much at all.  Yes, it will be used for anything you purchase on board at the shops, excursions, any extras at all.  Since it is your money you can also use it for the DSC or for extra tips for crew members.
