NCL Dawn recent cruisers who smoke

Recommended Posts

Hello,  I'm not looking to engage in a smoking debate here just need and answer to a simple question. Has anyone who smokes cigarettes been banned from the smoking/cigar bar on this ship? Please leave details as we have heard lately; Cigar smoking is permitted but cigarettes are not. How Crazy I can't believe it so I'm checking.   Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Yes, I was banned from the smoking lounge the 1st day of the cruise on the Down

Bar tender asked to go on the 13 floor at the outside smoking bar

Unfortunately, the red flag was present witch indicate refueling in progress and “no smoking”

So, I came back to the smoking lounge and finally they authorize me to smoke a cigarette

My understanding is that smoking cigarette in the lounge is only authorized when smoking bar or casino are close!

Strange but real

I think you have a misunderstanding of what that area is.  It is a Cigar Bar, not a smoking/cigar bar.   (smoking, as in cigarettes).

In January this year, the cigar lounge was taken over by the cigarette smokers.  They were in there endlessly, and the smoke drifted out into Gatsby's bar every time the door opened.  This was a problem since many shipboard activities are held at Gatsby's.  (Most of the cigarette smokers, my roommate included, chain smoked 3-4 cigs before leaving.  It was way more smoke than the cigar smokers put out.)

After many complaints (both by cigar smokers being driven out, and the people at the activities), the cigarette smokers were told to leave and smoke at the proper areas, which were the casino and the Bimini bar on deck 13.

My husband and I couldn’t stand the casino on Dawn last May due to the clouds of cigarette smoke.  It’s a small room.  (Cough, Cough).  So go ahead and smoke to your heart’s discontent in the casino.  Hopefully they lose so much money that they ban it fleet-wide.  Flame on.

Sooo it looks like it is true. SO unbelievably stupid. How can one tobacco smoke be banned and another ( Cigar )  not??

I don't particularly like Clove, vapes and some cigars but I don't complain when they are enjoying theirs alongside myself. Thanks to everyone who offered their information.

Just saying, they allowed it early until the cigarette smokers overwhelmed it....I doubt they would have banned it if the cigarette smokers "only" smoked one - vs - chain smoking.

P.S.  My roommate loved the Bimini bar !
