Day # 8 – 9/23/19  -  First Sea Day of the Cruise.

We got up at 7 am to a beautiful sunny day. Temperatures are expected to reach 77 degrees today, which is not bad for late September. Here are today’s Fun Times…..

About half of those who signed up attended, which is better than usual. No one from Carnival stopped by, but that was okay since this group really engaged with one another. We sat or stood in a circle and everybody introduced themselves, and a lively session of sharing experiences occurred. It was really awesome. In addition we had some special guests with us. Doug Parker from Cruise Radio was there, along with Richard Simms, who is a frequent contributor to Cruise Radio and is also the executive editor of Soaps in Depth Magazine. Ashley, who works for Cruise Critic, but I forget in what capacity, was also there with us. Here is part of the group during our lively discussions…..

IMG_1763-XL.jpg

We stayed at the Meet & Mingle until we were basically thrown out because another group had booked the space. Patti took this group shot, which was missing a few people that had to leave early…..

IMG_1765-XL.jpg

After leaving the Meet & Mingle I went up to the Red Fog Rum Bar to visit my buds, while Patti walked around a little.  The turnout for Seuss a Palooza was pretty light as there weren’t many children aboard the ship this week…..

IMG_1907-XL.jpg

We have a full basket of cranberry bread. Yay!

IMG_1906-XL.jpg

For her starters tonight, Patti had the spaghetti carbonara as an appetizer and a Caesar salad,,,,,

IMG_1908-XL.jpg

For my starters I had a shrimp cocktail followed by the Sicilian meatball soup….

IMG_1909-XL.jpg

Once again, we both had the lobster and grilled shrimp…..

IMG_1910-XL.jpg

Patti was not hungry for dessert but I had the coffee cream cake…..

IMG_1911-XL.jpg

After dinner Patti went back to the cabin to read, and I made my way to the Sports Bar. There was no satellite connection so there was nothing on TV, so after having one drink with Stefan, I then decided to head to the Comedy Show.

I got in line at 8 pm for the 8:30 pm Comedy Show starring Will Marfori. To enter the Comedy Club which is in the Limelight Lounge, you need to use the mid ship stairs or elevators. When I got in line a half hour before the show, the line had already backed up into the Deck 4 elevator lobby, and in no time at all extended through the elevator lobby, and then up the stairs and into the Deck 5 elevator lobby. Of course, people arriving by elevator on Deck 4 were directed back up to Deck 5 to join the back of the line.

As common sense dictated, I thought that once the previous show was over, everyone at that show would be directed to exit the Limelight lounge via the rear doors which would empty out into the Deck 4 aft elevator lobby. But noooooooo, they allowed people to exit towards the mid ship elevator lobby, or in other words, the way they came in. Now imagine this mass of humanity in the mid ship elevator lobby waiting to go in, clashing with this mass of people exiting the show into the same Deck 4 elevator lobby. It was pure chaos, and I told myself then that this would be the last comedy show that I would be going to on this ship!

Once inside the Limelight Lounge I got a great seat by the bar, and really enjoyed the show. I had read in other reviews that the Limelight Lounge was very hot, but that wasn’t my experience. However, until they figure out how to move people in and out of this venue, which really should be simple, I’ll pass.

After the show I exited through the rear doors and made my way up one flight to the Red Frog Pub. I watched one set of the Hip Stars and then called it a night.

Coming up next: Our day in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

what does it cost to play Bingo?  That is something my husband and I would like to do our next cruise.

These are the prices for a three game set of bingo. Prize amounts vary from game to game. :classic_cool:

Day # 9 – 9/24/19  -  Halifax, NS  ( 8 am – 4 pm ).

We were up at 7 am. It was not a very nice day. It’s cloudy with a chance of showers. The high temperature will top out at 67 degrees today. Here are today’s Fun Times…..

Looking at the bow camera view on our television, we could see that we were currently docking in Halifax…..

IMG_1916-XL.jpg

We decided to head up to the Lido Market Place for some omelets this morning. We avoided any lines by going to Cucina del Capitano. They seated us and just like they do for lunch, we filled out a card with what we wanted in the omelet, and when it was done they brought it out to us. Outstanding! There were stations where you could get your breakfast meats and potatoes, and also your coffee and juices.

Our bellies full, we went back to the cabin, grabbed our stuff, and then left the ship right around 10 am. The gangway was all the way forward on Deck 1. Welcome to Halifax!

Once Patti got back on the ship, she woke me because it was time to go to the VIFP Party. There would be two parties today, and ours was starting at 3:45 pm. That meant that we would miss the sail away from Halifax…..
