Holy Cow! I've never wanted to go up there to sightsee, but you have changed my mind! And I can even drive up there! Fantastic review. Thanks so much! Love what you are doing, and the pics are real sellers!

Thanks for reading and for your kind words! That's the effect we're looking for. Enjoy your road trip to New England & Canada!  :classic_biggrin:

I'm heading to Boston for a business trip later in November. If there's any time, that looks like a place I would enjoy visiting. Thanks for all the pictures!

Thanks for reading! Enjoy your trip to Boston. They also do those Ghost & Gravestone tours at night which would be awesome.

We have arrived at my Husband Daycare facility here in Boston. This is my 2nd favorite facility, topped only by Hooters! :classic_biggrin:

Now for those that don’t know, there are two Cheers locations in Boston. The original one  is up on Beacon Hill, and the outside shots for the television show were taken there. The second location was built at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, which is the location we are visiting today. The bar is an exact replica of the one seen on the set of the television show…..

IMG_2570-XL.jpg

We got there just as it opened, so Patti was able to get these shots before the crowds moved in.....

IMG_2578-XL.jpg

The Cheers Pub is downstairs, and where the restrooms are. (Always important to know)…..

Just catching up, Great review Jeff as always. The customs event in Portland, took me back several years when we routinely had to do this in St. Thomas. But, it was a much bigger inconvenience because we had to wait until most of the passengers went through before getting off. And of course, the passenger counts back then were around 2,000 or less.

Thanks so much for reading! We felt sorry for those passengers on the lower decks who weren't able to leave the ship until after noontime. :classic_cool:

Our bread has arrived. Yummy!

IMG_2810-XL.jpg

I’m drinking Peroni, an Italian beer…..

IMG_2811-XL.jpg

Here we are at Cucina del Capitano…..

IMG_2824-XL.jpg

IMG_2823-XL.jpg

The Chef’s are hard at work…..

IMG_2821-XL.jpg

We both start off with a Caesar salad…..

IMG_2822-XL.jpg

We both share the arancini (rice balls), and Nonna’s meatballs…..

IMG_2826-XL.jpg

For our mains, Patti has the pasta and shrimp, and I have the chicken parmigiana…..

IMG_2827-XL.jpg

IMG_2828-XL.jpg

Patti and I also shared an order of the fingerling potatoes…..

IMG_2829-XL.jpg

Here is the dessert menu…..

IMG_2831-XL.jpg

Patti had the Italian apple pie, and I had the chocolate biscotti…..

IMG_2832-XL.jpg

IMG_2833-XL.jpg

All the food was very good, and well worth the $15 up charge. As we left Patti posed by the Cucina sign…..

IMG_2837-XL.jpg

Afterwards, Patti went back to the cabin to watch a movie and get a jump on her packing.  I went to the Sports Bar to hang out with Stefan for a while…..

Coming up next: The beginning of the end…..

The apple pie sounded really good, and I suspect my DH would have opted for the biscotti too 🙂 I'll definitely have to give Cucina a go if we sail on a ship with it again.

Just wanted to let you know that I went to Mason's Famous Lobster Roll place on Friday night in Charleston before we sailed Saturday, 10/26.  It was really, really good!  The roll wasn't huge but there was so much lobster meat in it that it was very filling (especially with a draft to wash it down).  I actually considered getting one to take back to the hotel but stopped myself.  Discovered there's one not far from me in Raleigh!

Thanks so much for your kind words! We like to think that we're not getting older, we're getting better! :classic_biggrin: You need to try Cucina for sure!

Both!  I got the Classic (chilled with mayo & lemon butter).  Next time I may go for the one with the tail on top, the Bar Harbor!  Thank goodness the one in Raleigh is far enough away that I won't be tempted too often!
