New to Norwegian

Recommended Posts

We are researching cruises to the Caribbean next Nov. or Dec. for our 25th anniversary and  60/70 Birthdays.

We will have some grandchildren with us. So far an 8 and 11 year old but could be more if more of the family gets on board, literally so we are looking for a ship with some fun water features.

The only port that I would rather avoid leaving from is Galveston. no offence to my Texas family.

Itinerary, we have done most of the ports so thats not a big deal .

So, is there a recommendation for your favorite ship and why?

Norwegian is all new to me but I keep reading reviews that say "i wish that I had stuck with Norwegian "

Thank you so much!

If you want water features you'll need to look at the -away class ships. All have slides of varying degrees (Epic also has some). Some of the away class ships have ropes courses and sports decks and others have racetracks and laser tags. But it costs $15 a time for racetrack and $10 each time you play laser tag.

If the youngins would be ok in the ships kids program the difference is probably less of a big deal, but if they're not super keen on that I'd probably opt for a ship with the ropes course.

Escape seems to be the majority choice as best ship in the fleet.  I assume you are talking about Nov. or Dec., 2020, so Escape will be doing seven-day western and eastern Caribbean cruises out of Port Canaveral at that time.  There is plenty to do for both young and old on all of the BA and BA+ ships on NCL.
