Time for our first formal night! Once Nate’s clothes showed up he did a quick change and we were ready to go.

Did you use the wavy hair thing Crystal? It looks very nice, but not a lot of wavy. You both look fabulous! :classic_biggrin:

Great pictures!

I don’t know when we will ever get to do a Med cruise, but I’m taking notes just in case! 😃

Loved your video - thank you so much for sharing!  Trevi Fountain obviously was very crowded but overall did you find the streets very crowded?  Any concerns walking around Rome?

very crowded at Trevi every time we've been there....Nate was originally going to propose there but said he changed his mind as soon as he saw it. HA!

no concerns at all.  Even if I had been by myself I would have felt safe.

The head waiter, Drazen, came over and talked to us for quite a while. He just came from the Symphony and will be on the Allure next year. We told him we’ll be on the Allure twice next year so hope to run into him. After dinner we walked around, checked out our photos in Pixels n stopped in the Coral Theatre.

I didn’t end up buying this one but thought it was cute

All of the photo sessions were shut down but we found a wandering photographer by the gift shops and he took our pictures.
We got back to the room and Drazen had champagne delivered! WOW!
We set the clocks forward an hour tonight.

According to wiki:
Chania is the second largest city in Crete and dates back to 1100BC. The occupied history of the city is rather sad and worth the read...especially the section on World War II....which hit home for us because Nate’s grandmother is Jewish and was forced to leave Austria for China as a teen.

We got up at 7 and just caught the sunrise as we went to breakfast

Off the ship at 11 which was our ok to debark time and paid the 6.80euro RT bus for both at the little stand immediately outside the terminal. you can’t miss it.

The bus lets you off at and picks up outside this market

There’s a WC right outside that Nate went to use and said it was a hole in the ground. We’re definitely happily spoiled by our bathrooms in America I’ll tell ya that!

From the back of the market we entered into the shopping district of Chania, but I had something else in mind.
Now let me say I am NOT good with map reading. I can remember buildings and landmarks and know how to go from there but if you ask me street names or N, E, S, W I just can’t deal.
Nate on the other hand is great with maps but not landmarks. It’s a great balance...especially when I get frustrated not being able to read the map...
So I quickly handed him the walking map of Chania and pointed to where I wanted to go...with a pleading look on my face.

We passed several seafood restaurants but to be honest I’m not really a fan of seafood at all...not even a little. (oh the horror!) Nate also wanted a gyro so easy for me!

We chose the first non-seafood restaurant we came to that had a table with a view.

Hi Crystal and Nate. Enjoying your blog on the trip. It was nice running into you at the restaurant and I agree that the gyro was not that great.  Hopefully we will meet up on the Allure TA next November.

We met another couple while we were walking through the shops: Aaron and Tracy from Australia. They just did 4 days in Positano pre-cruise and were showing us videos. incredible! It got us very excited for our excursion there later in the cruise.
We continued walking and trying to explore sections we hadn’t gotten to yet.
Nate got a Hell energy drink for 80cent and said it tasted just like red bull.
in the market I picked up a couple jars of local honey to bring back to friends at home.

I admire you for your dedication to the gym.  We did a TA in April and I was sure I'd use the gym every sea day (we had 6 in a row).  I went a grand total of one time, lol!  I did stick to a mostly low carb diet on the ship (with a few desserts here and there, but no bread, pasta, or potatoes), but only saw the gym once!
