What to eat/drink off boat (Cabo, PV, and Mazatlan)

Recommended Posts

We will be arriving at these ports next week. Will be stopping here and would like to sample some local cuisine and beverages (alcohol). Anyone have recommendations on what to eat/drink and where?

Looking for any sort of help.

In Mazatlan I would recommend dining at Pancho's which is located on the beach in the Golden Zone.

If you want to combine dining with an excursion I would visit Stone Island and go to Letty's for the day.  Excellent food and drinks, great service and beachfront location.

How local do you want to go?

We like to eat at the mercados.

The mercado in Mazatlan is over 100 years old.  Sometimes we'll eat upstairs, other times we will grab some tamales and agua frescas, eating them in the plaza.  Shaved Ice (raspado) for dessert.

We go to two different mercados in PV.  One just past the stoplight behind Sam's Club, the other, Mercado Municipal, at the top of the Rio Cuale.

The Office in Cabo. Best food and heavy pour margs. Been eating there since 2008.

Just back from these ports.

In PV we did an excursion that stopped at a restaurant that was very much outside the city and I didn't eat (it was out of pocket to do so) so I can't make a recommendation.

In Mazatlan we walked the Blue Line into the old city and had lunch at a place along Sixto Osuna called La Famosa.  The food was good and we got the experience of a local restaurant.

In Cabo we did a non-ship excursion that took us out to San Jose Del Cabo for lunch, the food there was also very good but be aware that it's a 30-60 minute ride if you try to do it yourself.  The food was good though, I can get you the name if you want it.

Lots of Restaurants right at the beach at Playa los Muertos, old town, Puerto Vallarta. Our favorites are a.o. Cuates y Cuetes, Langostines and the more upscale Daiquiri Dicks and La Palapa. Get a cab to get there or use the local bus.

Also closer to the cruise terminal  are some Restaurants at the Marina area like Victors Cafe Tacuba, Los Alcatraces, Porto Bello. Just a short cabride away.
