Symphony OTS - 88 days out and still cant book entertainment

Recommended Posts

We are sailing in 88 days and the RCL website is stilling me:

"Sorry, We cannot reserve this right now.  Please try again onboard the ship"

I hope this resolves itself in a few says and is NOT meaning that I do have to wait until on the ship.

I know from other RCL cruises, it has always opened up at the 90 day window to start to reserve entertainment.

{sigh}

If your other cruises had entertainment opening at 90 days, that was coincidence.  There is no pattern to when the various items appear in the cruise planner.  Keep checking.

Thanks Bob! You are (as is usually the case) CORRECT!  I did some more digging at:

*****.com/2016/07/23/first-time-cruisers-when-can-i-prebook-entertainment-dining-and-more-my-royal-caribbean

Specifically they state:

Entertainment: Royal Caribbean only allows guests to reserve seats for shows on Oasis and Quantum-class cruise ships.  All other ships, will have seating available on a first-come, first-served basis and/or complimentary tickets once guests are onboard.

If entertainment is available to reserve for your cruise, we have typically seen shows become available for booking around 75-60 days prior to the sail date, but your experience may vary.

This is not the first nor last time Royal will state something that's not totally accurate. For an upcoming Oasis sailing the remaining shows did not appear until about 38 days from sailing.

Our Symphony cruise last Nov. show bookings opened 47 days out.

when on Symphony, beginning of the year,  entertainment opened up around the 45 day mark.

On another note, the aqua show is not currently open to book. So, while some of our entertainment is bookable it is not all available.

Our Harmony cruise January 12 opened show reservations last week, somewhere between 70 and 80 days.  I know we're all excited about our next cruise. but don't stress about getting everything booked the very first day things open.  The shows don't seem to fill up THAT fast.

We are at 75 days out for our Symphony in January and still no entertainment yet.  Looking forward to booking 🙂

We sail March 14, 2020 and I called in on Thanksgiving and made reservations for all 5 shows. I was unable to do online but some in our group had no problem. I'm 100 days out as of today.

Booked Quantum 9th Jan 2020 on Black Friday. Have checked a couple of times In my planner on the RC website but there is no information about shows. Should I ring RC? Not long to go, obviously, only 34 days.

Planning completed for all mine through March 1. Noticed at 87 days the last one was available. Could have opened  much sooner.
