Taxi to coral world - carseat

Recommended Posts

We will be traveling with our 15 mon old and would like to take her to coral world. I read the taxis are open air, we are considering on taking our car seat with us in the cruise but would not be comfortable traveling in the open air taxis with her. Do they have regular cars or vans at the port? Also how do you get back to the port from coral world? Is there a taxi stand, or do you need to call for a taxi? How much per person is it?

There are regular car and van taxis but you may have to request one at the dock. The dispatcher usually sends you to the next vehicle going to your destination no matter what kind of vehicle it is.

But, most locals and visitors hold the little ones in their laps. If you're sitting in the middle of the seating row you're better protected though it's harder to see the sights. Speed limits are low by stateside standards so and the taxi safaris are big enough to usually not have considerable damage to the vehicle or the passengers if there is an accident. Passenger cars suffer more damage in an accident than a safari taxi.

There are 2 ports so the taxi fare should be between $10-12 per person each way. There is a taxi stand at Coral World. That taxi stand may only have safari type vehicles because they are easy to clean after beach trips.

If the little one is in your lap they probably won't charge but if in a car seat there may be a charge because of the space. It's up to the driver.
