How long for getting off ship/through customs at Port Everglades

Recommended Posts

How long does it typically take to get off the ship and through lines and customs at Port Everglades?  (I'm reserving our transport.)

We like to have a relaxing morning the last day...if possible. Our flights will be early to mid-afternoon so no rush for that.  🙂 Would a 9:45am transport allow enough time for customs, lines, etc... in the terminal?

Thanks

9:45 is plenty of time. The ship will be doing last call for anybody getting off by then.

How long it takes to get off depends on a number of variables. If you carry off your luggage and are in the first group or two, and have Global Entry, you could get from the side of the ship to the curb in 10 or 15 minutes. If you go in the middle of the pack, and don't have Global Entry, ( or are not a US citizen) it could take an hour.

That's good advice. In two trips during 2018, we waited about 20-25 minutes at most. We have Global Entry.

Celebrity recently rebuilt its terminal to accommodate the Celebrity Edge, so they may have made improvements to the returning visitor process.

Your preferred time is fine.  A tip for often speedier exit from the cruise terminal:  engage the services of a Porter.  They have a "special" line for their guests.  Always, the line waiting to go through Customs and Immigration is shorter than the other line.

We just got off the Serenade at Port Everglades this past Friday and it was a nightmare.  There were very few porters and the lines were horrendous.  It took us almost 1-1/2 hours to get out of the terminal.
