Cocktails in casino

I did as well. My understanding is that you can get free drinks as long as you are in the casino gambling. This is my first time doing this promotion. I hope people can give us some ideas how this works. Happy Sailing!!

It’s works just like Cheers. Only thing is you need to be gambling to get drinks.
Its been a 50-50 chance to get a drink at the casino bar

usually you need to order from a waiting in the casino.
it’s called drinks on us

We have booked our cruise with a casino promotion. We can receive free drinks in the casino. Anyone have info on that?

LOL, I doubt it but let's see what others have to say!   Not sure why you would say that.

As others have said, you get free drinks only in the casino as long as you are playing either the slots or at a table.  A lot depends on if it is a Premier cruise or not as to how fast you can get served.  With a Premier cruise, there will be a lot more people that get the free drinks so the servers are a little swamped.  Just flag them down when they go by and order your drink.

It has been our experience that you cannot just walk up to the casino bar and order your drink with the card.  The people at the bar are buying their drinks.  Many have said that if you want better service, give the server a tip and they will keep coming back to you.

WOW, I stand corrected I had no idea you could get free drinks, We've been on many a cruise and in the casinos but never new , Sorry for my doubt and thanks for the original post.

Just to be clear, the drinks are not free just because you are gambling in the casino.  You have to have the “Drinks on Us” promotion given by Carnival.  My friend received this perk halfway through our seven day cruise in September.  She had accumulated 1500 points in the casino and they offered her “Drinks On Us” for the remainder of the cruise.

I usually get Drinks on Us each cruise.  Be sure to tip your servers well while you are in the casino.  I rarely have to wait for a drink.  🙂

This

I tipped very well on out last Horizon cruise.   My DW drank the whole time on my DOU card.  I never asked him to do it. He would ask her what she wanted and it never showed up on our bill.  It was nice little perk.

There are two different "Drinks on Us" cards.  The OP booked a promotion where they give you the card.  The other, you have to earn by accumulating points.  The amount of points needed depends on the length of the cruise.  To get one point, you need to play $2.50.  That doesn't mean you have to put $2.50 in the machine.  Say you put in $20 and win $60.  Play that $60 and you now have accumulated 24 points but have only used $20 and it's still in the machine.

We always get the Drinks on Us card for casino beverages, as we always book some kind of casino promo.  You can pretty much order any drink you want- soda, wine, mixed drinks, cocktails, etc.  I always tip $1, and always have servers constantly checking in on me to see if I need anything.  You have to be playing to get the drinks.

Thanks for the clarification.  I just wanted the OP to know that he wouldn't necessarily have free drinks.  Our cruise was a “casino promotion” and we did not have Drinks On Us until my friend accumulated the necessary points.    The cruise itself was virtually free.  We only had to pay port fees and taxes.

We booked under a similar promotion.(awesome rate, $100 OBC and Drinks on Us for 2 adults in cabin)From my understanding,  While you are playing in the casino you are able to receive the free drinks from a server walking around the casino floor. We will find out in about 12 days. Enjoy your cruise.

We are sailing on the Dec 1 Glory premier cruise out of New Orleans.  I got a great room rate, DOU cards for both hubby and I, $500 in casino cash, and will get gift in our cabin during the cruise.  This is my second premier.  Being a premier, the casino is typically busier so the servers will be busier.  I tip anywhere between $2 and $5.  Keeps them coming back, even with a crowded casino!

Enjoy your cruise and best of luck in the casino!!

Your "Drinks on Us" will be in your room when you board or with the Casino Host at the cage on the 1st night. Most of the time, the Drinks on Us include one guest. They ONLY work if you are actively playing in the Casino.

So, if you want a drink but don't want to play at the moment, have a seat, stick in 10 bucks and wait for a waiter to go by and grab a drink. You can also ask for a water at the same time and that is free, as well. It basically works like the Cheer program but ONLY in the casino while playing. It's a great perk.

As others have said, tip your waiter and you will never wait for a drink. Our last cruise was a Premier and we couldn't drink them fast enough but we always tip. Always. Waiters will find you via your card as you play and, if you tip, they will hunt you down to serve you. Have fun!

Ok, now I know why I have gotten so many casino offers since my last cruise in November 2018. I've got two great deals booked for 2020. Unfortunately you also depressed me when I realized how much I ran through the machines to get the level of points I had to get those offers. 😂
