Viking motorcoach between Prague and Budapest

Recommended Posts

we are planning on the Viking Grand European Tour river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam in 2020.  We want to book a pre cruise extension through Viking in either Prague or Budapest.  Prague is certainly interesting but would require a 7 hour ride in the Viking owned  Mercedes motorcoach to reach our ship in Budapest. Can anyone share their experience with this.  Is visiting Prague worth it ? Thank you

We did the Bucharest to Budapest cruise in April and did the Viking extension in Prague.  That was about a six hour bus ride but well worth it.  Do not miss Prague.  It is a beautiful city.  Have good, sturdy, broken in shoes for all the walking on the cobblestones. Our only regret was not doing the pre cruise extension for Transylvania as well.  There is always next time.

We did the Prague extension to our Nuremberg to Budapest cruise.  It was a three plus hour bus ride to Nuremberg.  Prague was great and was a place that we definitely needed more than one day.  Only you can decide if a seven hour bus ride is worth it for you.

Here is a link to a video from our Prague extension.

Prague is definitely worth it. We did the pre-extension 4 years ago when we were bused to Passau from Prague (much shorter ride), but we loved Prague so much that it was a factor in taking the Cities of Lights cruise 2 years ago which began on land in Prague.

We just did the Prague 3 day extension at the back end of Grand European.

Do it.  Bus ride is not bad, plenty of stops, and a comfortable coach. Prague is not to be missed, IMO.

Many thanks to all.  Prague it is !

Good choice. The city is magical.

The Prague extension was one of the highlights of our Grand European Tour.
