Bring on bottled water?

I saw on princess website you can bring 1.bottle of wine/champagne up to 750ml per person but can’t find anything on their policy for bringing onboard bottled water? Can you do that and if so what is the limit? Do you carry it on or check it in duffle or small suitcase?

No limit but you are supposed to carry it on

You can carry on as much bottled water as you like.  However I am not sure it is worth the hassle.  You can prepurchase a 12 pack of bottled water for $6.00 (7.08 with gratuity) and it will be delivered to your room.  There is no limit as to how many you may purchase.  A good steward will actually put a few into your fridge.

We have become tired of lugging water, so now we opt for reasonably priced water package from Pincess.  It is delivered to your room, but you have to order it before cruising.

Princess has one of the few really reasonable bottled water packages on cruise lines, as stated above.  

 

On other cruise lines I often bring a six-pack or so on board and refill as needed.  I also just buy the 12 pack on Princess and refill as needed since I drink a lot of water.

 

Some lines (NCL) don't let you bring water on board, so I just bring some empty bottles and refill them.

You CAN but unless you are in Australia or New Zealand, it's about $7 for a dozen bottles in your personalizer (precruise price). So is it necessary to cart on?

It is when you can find a full case (24 bottles) for $2.50 at home.

I agree and we always order the water package. However for some reason only known to Princess you cannot pre-order water on Australian cruises. We are leaving Sydney on the Ruby on Friday and the option to order water has never shown in my Personailser, nor the 5 for 4 beer offers. The only thing there is the all inclusive bevererage package, but no plain old water.😕

As others have stated as much water and soda that you want to carry. But honestly it is so much easier to just order the water to be in my cabin. The only beverages we carry on are the 2 bottles of wine.

What am I missing?  Why not just bring a reusable water bottle and just fill it up on board?  Is there something wrong with the water out of the taps?

Some people don’t care for the taste of the water from the tap.

 

some people think they won’t like the taste of the water from the tap.

 

some people believe many diseases are passed in water from the tap. 
 

some people just like to use plastic. 
 

some people like to drink a lot of water while on excursions. 
 

that’s just some of the people.

I do bring a refillable bottle, but I had to go to a bar or cafe, as we could not get cold water from the tap in the room, it was lukewarm.

That's why I use a wide-mouthed water bottle.  I just fill it with ice, then put water in.

I wish they offered sparkling water for the same price, I don't drink soda or wine, so I drink a lot of fizzy water at home.

I question how long before Princess changes this permission.

 

Princess has a new-found environmental conscience.

 

Published on their website, their plans include getting rid of single-use plastics onboard.

 

Their new environmental policy specifically addresses plastic water bottles starting Jan 1, 2020.

 

If Princess will no longer offer beverages in plastic ... I doubt Princess will permit pax to bring on water or soda in plastic bottles.

 

I predict an outright ban ... or perhaps a pax-paid recycling or disposal fee.

 

Watch for the announcement.

You can actually bring more wine than that.  The 1 bottle is not subject to a corkage fee as long as it is consumed in your room.  You may actually bring additional bottles but they are subject to the current $15 corkage fee.  That allows them to be consumed anywhere on board.  Princess usually has a table set up in the boarding area to which you are directed and the additional wine is recorded and some form of sticker applied to the bottles indicating corkage has already been paid.  If not then when you bring your bottle to the MDR the corkage can be applied there.

Never could understand why people bring on heavy weight water  bottles ,when the ships water is converted sea water & very good

I've never carried water or soda onto a Princess ship. The cases of soda get taped up fairly well and a luggage tag taped to the side, same with a case or 2 of water.

 

I've had 1 porter say no, then his buddy said yeah, its ok, its Princess and they allow it. All have safely made it to my cabin.

 

As to why one needs/desires to bring water/soda onboard, it is nice to have a cold beverage in your cabin, without paying bar + prices for them, and to have mixers for alcohol either prepurchased or from the first leg of a B2B(2B2Betc).

 

We get the soda package and the tumbler that comes with it, but I definitely won't carry around a tumbler, much less a refillable water bottle. I did it once (several years ago on Carnival), and I spent more time trying to remember where I left the refillable bottle/tumblr and finding it than I actually spent drinking from it......

 

Seems several replies in this thread state they carry it on or had to carry it on.....where and why?
