Price War - $69 Fares

Recommended Posts

The excess older ship capacity left over from the Cuba shutdown and passenger worries about Grand Bahama have resulted in a price war.   The good news for passengers is this is an excellent deal.  Hopefully this leads to more volume- cruise lines have fixed costs and the more passengers the better.  I though the older fares $189 etc. were a bit high- this new price level drops well into impulse territory.

Hopefully BPCL can make it up a little on casino and onboard purchases and keep the lights on.  Friends tell friends also.  I hope Grand Bahama can rally and open more shops. hotels, beaches etc.

That's for Ocean View and if you are a vet another 10% off plus 5 free drinks. We just grabbed a great deal on the Sky Princess. Fort Lauderdale Inaugural cruise Dec 1-4 $60 Ocean View $50 vets OBC and another $50 OBC Stock holder. Total $330.00 with tax and port. Could not pass that up even though we are booked on it for Jan 11 2020 Will be a nice preview.

How did you find out about such an offer?  Living where you do, taking advantage of such offers is significantly easier than doing so where I live.  Queen Mary 2, etc., won't ever be docking in the Miami River in Dayton, Ohio.

Received emails from Princess. The first one I ignored figuring a catch. It said cruise for FREE. Nothing is free so I just deleted it. The next one that came a few days later my wife questioned me and wanted to check it out. To our suprise it was FREE for an inside and only $60 pp for the balcony. Not only that but the last one available on the deck we wanted was exactly where we would have booked. perfect. We immediately purchased a lotto ticket. No id did not win. Also on a web site that shows all cruises and prices it was there. Two days later it increased to $105.00 pp. As for the BPCL it is on there web site. Two great deals.

You are so correct. We live just about exactly between Port Canaveral and Port Everglades. So we do cruise a lot because of the lower cost. About $15 in gas plus parking. Always off site. We do no less than 4 and a max of 8 cruises per year. The 8 would include the PBCL ships. Would have been 9 this year but our Allure cruise was cancelled due to the hurricane. Port of palm beach the ships are one hour door to door. Costs a bit more for the parking but less for the gas and travel time. We do the Grand Celebration and the Grand Classica as fill ins. You know. Cruise withdrawal. Need a quickie.😎

We live in the wonderful Port St. Lucie as well! and agree it is nice and easy to drive to one of our many options for cruise ports nearby. Either Miami, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Palm Beach, etc. For the Palm Beach we were lucky that our office is 10 minutes from the port in North Palm Beach so we just parked our car at the office and took a uber to the port. Saved on parking and was hassle free since they were so many ridershares available we did not have to wait longer than 1 minute in both direction.

Well it never happened for us. My wife ended up in the hospital on the 30th and was just released on the 2nd. So, our luck on the cruise was no so lucky after all. She is fine and recuperating at home.

We no longer go to Miami. Wife hates the crazy drivers after Fort Lauderdale and does not like Miami. I do not mind mainly because the cruise prices are usually the lowest. Some ships only port in Miami. We like the ride to Port Canaveral the best because of the traffic situation.Good deal with your parking.

I am glad to know that your wife is recuperating and am sorry that you couldn't take advantage of such a good offer.  One never knows what the future will bring.  Even though it significantly adds to the cost of any trip I take, I always buy travel insurance and do so within the time frame after making a deposit to insure that pre-existing conditions are covered.

I have the premium rewards card from Bank of America we take a lot of cruises every year and the card is $95 a year. Great perks and it cover everything on any trip we take with the travel insurance included as long as I used that card for the trip/cruise
