Never ask anyone else what they paid for their cruise, it will just cause hard feelings for one party or the other...assuming everybody even tells the truth.  Be happy with what you paid and just go enjoy yourself.

Perhaps, I misundestand but wsas OP fully open and honesgt wigth us in  ghe openng post?  OP  did not tell of interline booking  BUt  was not shy in  their  open complaint s and criticism.  I think  informing  about  interline  is critical in  this specific instance. Makes for a very different  tale,     IMO

Holland America Line DOES NOT SUCK.  Appears a lack of understanding of the term "interline" is at issue here on the part of the OP.  Not a HAL problem.  Moral of story....😋Ya get what ya pay for..

Although I’ll never use interline, the OP’s story gives me even more distaste for things like Club Orange. Expanding the options in bookings can get nauseating (like airlines, where finally you get absolute  cr*p if you don’t fork over more $) and make a odd, unpleasant situation that can’t really be anticipated.  HAL and the OP both share the responsibility for the problem.
